Insomeplaces,lakeshavebeenwarmingbyasmuchas0.10degreeCelsiusperyear.Atthatrate,alakemaywarmbyafulldegreeCelsiusinjust10years.Thatdifferencemayseemsmall-youmightnotevennoticeitinyourbath.Butinalake,slightlywarmertemperaturescouldmeanmorealgae(水藻),andalgaecanmakethelakepoisonous(有毒的)tofish.
Thestudyshowsthatinsomeregions,lakesarewarmingfasterthantheairaroundthem.ThisisimportantbecausescientistsoftenusemeasurementsofairtemperaturetostudyhowEarthiswarming.Byusinglaketemperaturesaswell,scientistscangetabetterpictureofglobalwarming.Thescientistssaydataonlakesgivescientistsanewwaytomeasuretheimpactofclimatechangearoundtheworld.
