1、Children’sResearchCenter

TheCenter

SincetheChildren'sResearchCenter(CRC)openedin1982,over15,000babies,children,andparentsfromdiversebackgroundshavevolunteeredtoparticipateinourresearch.WithintheCRC,thereareelevenlabsconductingresearchonchilddevelopment.Ourresearchexaminesabroadrangeoftopics,includingthedevelopmentoflanguage,parent-childrelationshipsandculturalinfluencesondevelopment.Researchprojectsaresupportedprimarilythroughfederalassistanceandprivatedonations.

Inaddition,theCRCprovidestrainingforapproximately150collegestudentsperyear.Theircloseworkwiththestaffonspecificresearchprojectspreparesthemtoachieveadvanceddegreesandprofessionaljobsworkingwithchildren.

Participation

Childrentypicallyenjoyparticipatinginourresearchandparentsreporttheexperiencetobeinterestingandinformative.ManyagreeloparticipateinmorethanonestudyandoftenrecommendtheCRCtotheirfriendsorneighbors.

Wearelookingforvoluntaryparticipationofchildrenfrombirthto15yearsofageatpresent.Ifyouareinterestedinhavingyourchildparticipateinoneofourstudiesorhaveanyquestions,youcancallus,emailusorfillinouronlineform.

TheLibrary

TheMakesLibrary,namedforalateprofessorofourcenter,liesonthefirstflooroftheCRC.Supportedentirelybyprivatedonors(捐赠者),itprovidesup-to-datenewspapersandmagazinesandsomebooksindevelopmentalpsychologyforpeopleattheCRC.Thecenterdecidedtobuilditasameetingplaceoriginally.Nowstaffseminarsareheldinthelibrary,anditisalsotheplaceofthedevelopmentalarealsseminarandconferenceinwhichspeakersfromacrossthecountrypresenttheirresearch.
