Today,it’sapleasureformetostandhereandI’mverypleasedtohavesuchanopportunitytosharesomeofmyteachingideaswithyou.First,letmeintroducemyself.MynameisGuoXinzhi,andIamworkingasanEnglishteacherinYong’anMiddleSchool,CongtaiDistrictofHandan.

MytopictodayistakenfromLesson37ofUnit5inStudentBook4.Themaincontentofthisunitis“GoWithTransportation”,andthetopicofLesson37is“FlyingDonuts”.Ihavedecidedtosaythelessonfromsixparts:

PartOne——AnalysisoftheTeachingMaterial

One:

StatusandFunction

1.Thisunittellsustheimprovementoftraffictransportationandtherelatedstories.Besideslearningthis,studentswillalsolearnsomewords,phrasesandexpressionsoftraffic,andsoon.InLesson37,Dannywillintroduceanewtypeoftransportationtous,itisimaginary.

2.Toattain“fourskills”requestoflistening,speaking,readingandwriting,Iwillhavethestudentsdosomeexerciseaboutthetext.

3.Suchatopicisveryimportantinthisunit.Iwillleadthestudentstousetheirimaginationandencouragethemtobecreative.Forexample,helpingthemuseEnglishtodescribetheirimaginarytransportation.SoIthinkifthestudentscanlearnthislessonwell,itwillbehelpfultomakethemlearntherestofthisunit.

1.Learnnewwordsingroups.Thenewwordinthislessonarefuel,oilandcoal.Showthempicturesofthesethingsandteachthemthesenewwords.

Afterseeingthepictures,thestudentswillknowwhattheyareandtheycanlearnthemquicklyandeasily.

2.Playthetaperecorder.Letthestudentslistenandimitatethetext.Payattentiontotheirpronunciationandintonation.Thenfinishtheexercisesonthecomputer.

Thisstepisemployedtomakethestudentsgetthegeneralideaofthetext.Atthesametimeletthestudentshaveachancetopractisetheirlisteningandspeakingability.

I’lluseCAItopresentthewholetext.I’llwritethekeypointsontheblackboardwhiletheyarewatching.Afterwatching,I’llteachthemtoreadthewordsandsentencesontheBb.Makesuretheycanreadthemwell.
