Thenumberofpeoplekilledreachedarecordlowof32,675in2014,accordingtoNHTSAstatistics.Thatrecordfollowedafairlysteadydownwardtrackforthepastsixyearsthatexpertsattributeditprimarilytosafetyfeaturesthathavebeenbuiltintocarsandtrucks.
