LudwigvanBeethovenwasborninBonn,GermanyonDecember7,1770.Hisfather,JohannBeethoven,alsoamusician,wantedhissontobeageniusandencouragedhimtodevelophismusicaltalents.JohannwassodeterminedtomakehissonintoasuccessfulmusicianthathewouldpullpoorLudwigoutofbedinthemiddleofthenightandforcetheyoungboytopracticepianountiltheearlyhoursofthemorning.

Attheageofeleven,LudwigvanBeethovenreceivedprofessionalpianoandcompositiontraininginBonn,andwithintenyearshebecamewellknowninViennaforhisimaginationwhencreatingmusiconthepiano.Hecontinuedtolivethereandbecameveryinterestedintheconstructionofpianos,whichdevelopedintothemoderngrandconcertpiano.

ThingschangedforBeethovenin1798whenhishearingwasbecomingimpaired.HecomposedtheFirstSymphonyandSeptetOp20andperformedthemonApril2,1800,anditwongreatsuccess.However,hishearingcontinuedtoworsen,andhebegantoseparatehimselffromhisfamilyandfriendsinordertoavoidconversation.
