Thoughexaggeratealittle,thecartoonilluminatesaseriousfactthattheunusuallyrapidspeedofsea-levelrise,causedbyglobalwarming,isdevouringourlands,andforthatmatter,ourlives.Arecentreportalsosupportedthisviewbyquotingscientists'forecastthatislandcountrieslikeJapanandIndonesia,aswellasthenumerousislandsonthePacificOcean,mightdisappearfromourmapsforever.Thecurrentgreenhouseeffectremainsoutofcontrol.Wearesadtoperceivethatthethreatfailtoarouseenoughattention,whichisbestexemplifiedbythefrustrationthatKyotoProtocolconfronts.
Inmyopinion,itishightimeforthewholeworldtoformcooperationfightingglobalwarming,becausenotasinglegovernmentnorpersonisexemptfromitsharm.Aseriesofdown-to-earthmeasuresneedtobeurgentlyimplementedtocontroltheoutputofcarbondioxidethatgreatlycontributestoglobalwarming.
