ChapterI.Introduction

SinceancienttimesfamilyeducationwastobeconcernedandsoistodayinChina.Accordingtothetraditionalconcept,familyeducationisbringingupchildreninfamilylife.Andaccordingtothemodernconcept,itinvolvesunderstanding,respectamongfamilymembers.

1.1theImportanceofFamilyEducation

SovieteducatorSukhomlinsky’sbookthe100recommendationstotheteacherwrote:

"Iwanttostartoureducationandtrainingofchildren,comparedtoapieceofmarble,severalsculptorsallcametoitwithaknife,toshapeitintoastatuesothatithasaspiritual,reflectingtheidealsofthepeople.Whowerethesesculptors?

Thefirstsculptorisfamily,andinfamilythemostmeticulousandmosttalentpersonismother;secondisteacher,hehasspiritualwealth,wisdom,knowledge,capacity,hobbyandlifeexperience…"AstheSukhomlinsky’swords,familyeducationisavitalandindispensablepart.

1.2MethodologyandStructure

Thispaperusessurveymethod,observationmethod,literaturestudymethodandcasestudymethod.Throughadoptingthesemethods,moresystematicandcomprehensivemethodsintroducedtheimportanceoffamilyeducation.Amongthemthemethodofliteratureresearchandsurveymethodaremoreused.Thecaseanalysisaredemonstratedthedifferentpersonalitiesofchildrenandwhatmeasuresparentsshouldtaketotheeducation.

Thepaperisdividedintofivechapters,forthefirstchapter,itgivesageneralideaoftheimportanceoffamilyeducation.Forthesecondchapter,itintroducesthefunctionsoffamilyeducation.Inthischapter,itisdividedintothreeparts,thefirstoneisfamilyeducationlife’seducation,secondisfamilyeducationisindividualeducation,lastisfamilyeducationemotioneducation.Thethirdchapterisabouttheinfluenceoffamilyeducation.Itcontainssixsmallparts.Theyaretheparents'culturalawareness,theparentseducationalmethods,inappropriatewaystocriticizechild,familyrelationships,thefamily'slivingconditionsandparents’attitudetochildren.Inthischapter,observationmethodsaremoreused,throughthingswhichhappenedaroundus.Differentfactorsonchildren’growtharedifferent,includinghowtoblameandgivemoreopportunitytotryagain.Sothewayofcriticizingchildrenisalsoimportantinparenting.Thenextpartishowtoteachchildreninanappropriateway.Inthischapter,theparentcanbethechild’sfaithfullistener;theycancreateaharmoniousfamilyenvironment,theycanusethe"appreciated"visiontochildren…thelastpartisconclusion.

 

 

ChapterⅡ.FunctionsofFamilyEducation

Someeducationalistssummarizedthefamilyeducationintothreepoints:

first,familyeducationislife'seducation.Becausethecontentofitisappropriatefortheneedsofreallife.Second,familyeducationisindividualeducation.Theparentsknowtheirchildwell.Parentsknowtheirchild’sindividualityandthereforecanadapttohispersonalityandguidehisaction,allowfullplaytotheirpersonalitiestothefullestextent.Third,thefamilyeducationisemotionaleducation.Soitplaysanimportantroleineducatingchildren.

2.1FamilyEducationisLife’sEducation

Inreallife,peoplecanoftenseethesituation:

somechildrenathomeareactive,intelligent,andoncecontactingastrangerinthenewenvironment,theybecomeshy,awkwardandmechanical;inthekindergarten,somechildrensaytohimself,playalone;Somechildren,ontheotherhand,trytobebraveandbullytheweak;Andwhenmeetingacquaintances,evenadults,theyalsodummyup,tryingtoescape.Allaspectsofchildren’lifecannotbeseparatedfromthefamily.

Familyeducationisthefirstlessontochildren,sofamilyeducationhasadirectinfluenceonthequalitiesoftheirtalents.Inotherwords,goodfamilyeducationcontributestochildren’ssuccessintheirfuture.Forexample,ifapersonhasgoodfamilyeducationinhisorherchildhood,heorshemaydevelopsomegoodhabits,suchasbeingconfidentandoptimisticinlife,beingbravetofacethedifficultiesinlife,beingpolitetoeveryoneinlifeandsoon.Andachildwhofeelsthestronglovefromhisparentswilllearntoloveothers.Onthecontrary,thechildwhoislesslovedbyhisparentsmusthavesomepsychologicalproblemsinthefuture.SoIdobelievethatfamilyeducationplaysanimportantroleinthewholeeducationofaperson.

2.2FamilyEducationisIndividualEducation

Thefamilyisthecellofsociety,istheimportantplacetopregnantwiththefoundationofindividualdevelopment.Familyeducationistheimportantfoundationforformingindividualeducation,tomakechildrengetagoodeducationshouldbeanimportantgoaloffamilyeducation.

Familyeducationisindividualeducation.Theparentsknowtheirchildwell.Sotheycanuseappropriatewaytoeducatetheirchild.Inthefamily,aparentfacingjustoneortwochildren,thewayofeducationisbasicallyindividualteaching.Havinglonglivedtogether,parentsknowmoreoftheirchildreninbody,abilityandpersonality;sincetheirchildrenarecasualandeasilyathome,theirallkindsofthoughtsandactionsshowtruthfully;Somechildrendependontheirparents,respecttheirparents,sotheyaremostlikelytotelltheirthoughtstoparents,thatisgoodforparentstohaveindividualtraining,accordingtotheiraptitude.

Parentscouldidentifybothchildren'sinterestsandtalents,tocultivate,tomaketheirpotentialfullydeveloped,accordingtothechild'sproblems,weaknesses;theytargettocarryontheeducation,inordertoreceive"gaingoodandsavelost"effect.Butinthefiercecompetitionofmodernsociety,somefamilyignoreheredity,environment,andeasytoignorethechildrenearlyeducationconditionsdifference;expecthighlevelsofchild,earlytoimplementorientationtraining,forcethechildonlypaytheattentiontotheextracurricularlearningorinclass.Thiskindofeducationviolatesthedevelopmentofchildren'sphysicalandmentalheath,ignoringtheindividualdifferences,notonlydifficulttoreceivethedesiredeffect,andisalsoboundtoweakentheearlytrainingofchildren'smoralcharacterandhabits,hurtchildren'sself-respect,theself-confidenceandindependentspirit,thushinderthedevelopmentofchildren'sphysicalandmentalheath.

2.3FamilyEducationisEmotionalEducation

Thefocalpointoffamilyeducationshouldbetheemotionaleducation.Ithinkfamilyeducationistheeducationoflove,ithastwolevels:

first,theparentsgivetheirchildrenthetruelove,includingphysicalcareandmentalcare.Second,parentsguidetheirchildrenlearntolove."Becausethestudyisobservationallearningofchildren,children'scultureisimitation,childrengrewupintheexperience."althoughtheremustbeasermoninthefamilyeducation,therearealsomanyknowledgeandskillsofteaching,butfamilyeducationtheessenceofeducationisnotknowledge,norrationaleducation,butshouldbeemotionaleducation.

"Emotionaleducationisthemostbasicandmostimportanteducation.Inessencethegoaloftheeducationistomakepeoplegettheessenceofhappiness,getdevelopment,ratherthantheso-calledsuccess."Rousseauwasputforwardinthe"loveson",foreverychildrenandadultsthereoughttobeabottomlineeducation,whichwillnothurtpeople.Currentfamilyeducationurgentlyneedstoestablishsuchamoralbottomline,forthechildbeforetheageof10childrenshouldcompletethecultivationofmoralintelligence.Itistheabilitytodistinguishrightfromwrong.Childrenbeforetheageoftwo,takesgoodcareofthechild,lethimbuildasenseofsecurity.Atthistimethecompanyofparentsismoreimportantthananything.Ifthechildrenawayfromtheirparentsorthepeoplearoundthemarenotstable,notfixed,thechildislikelytobeinsecure.Inthisstageof2~4yearsold,childshouldhavethecouragetosaynotoachild.Atthistimethechild'slanguageabilityhasdevelopedrapidly,isthetimetobuildrulesforchild.Whenheappearedbadbehavior,suchashitting,swearing,monopoly,besuretosaynotohim.Attheageof5~10yearsold,shouldcontinuetocultivatemoralhabits.After10yearsold,themostimportantisprinciples,especiallyduringpuberty."

 

ChapterⅢInfluencesofFamilyEducation

Inhumanhistory,familyeducationusedtobethemainwayofsocializationofindividuals.Especiallyinthefeudalsociety,self-sufficientnaturaleconomymadeafamilyaproductionunit.Therefore,familyeducationisoftenthemainformofapersontogetaneducation.AstheUnitedStatesscholart.Perkinsputit,thefamilyisthe"factorymanufacturedpersonality".Forchildren,familyisoneofthemainplacesoftheirlives,familymembersarethemainobjectofcommunication.Parentsaresupportofchildreninemotion.Therefore,familiesareimportanttochildren’development.

Familyisawhole,itcouldhaveasignificantimpactonchild'sdevelopmentinallaspects,butthedifferentfactorshavedifferentinfluencetochildren.InGeneral,thefollowingaremainfactorsaffectingindividualofchildren.

3.1.theParents'CulturalAwareness
