Abstract
Withthecomingofknowledgeeconomyandthedevelopmentoftheinformationage,theglobaleconomictendtointegration.Internationaleconomiccooperationandtradeismoreandmorefrequent.Multiculturalglobalvillageisbeingformed,withwhichpeoplehaveanewknowledgeofthevalueofEnglish.NowadaysthepurposeofforeignlanguageeducationisnotjustsothatwecansimplysayafewwordsofEnglishandcandotranslation,butinordertomakethefuturecitizensofmulticulturalismintheglobalvillageofsurvivalanddevelopmentandtomakefulluseofinformationtechnologyforknowledgeinnovation.

外语教育对于促进国际间的合作和发展、维护世界和平具有重大的意义。
很多国家的教育政策都指出,学习和掌握一门外语是21世纪合格公民的必备条件之一。
本文在阐述英语口语的重要性,在口语交流中的障碍以及从中找出导致这些问题的原因,并切实有效地提出了能真正提高口语教学质量、提高学生的口语说话能力的策略。

Introduction
Englishisapopularlanguage—especiallyinthenewrecentlyyears.Asisknowntousall,itisthemostwidelyusedlanguageinthedevelopingworldandit’sgettingmoreandmoreimportantnowadays.Recentestimatessuggestthatmorethan400millionpeoplespeakitastheirfirstlanguage,withmorethan1800millionpeoplespeakingitassecondlanguage.Itisanofficiallanguageinalargenumberofcountriesandiswidelyusedinairtrafficcontrolandacademicgatherings.(KeanQiu,1996)
Nowadays,withtheopening-upofChina,Englishteachinghasbeengettingmoreandmoreattention,especiallysinceBeijingwonthebidtoholdthe2008OlympicGames.PeopleareenthusiasticaboutlearningEnglish.MostofourstudentsbegintolearnEnglishfromGrade3inprimaryschools.AndsinceChina'saccessiontotheWTO,thelevelofChina'sopeningtotheoutsideworldrisesceaselessly,andtheworldexchangeshavebecomeincreasinglyfrequent.Sociallifepresentsthefeatureofnormalizationandglobalization.English,asaninternationallanguage,playsacriticalroleinourforeignrelations.Meanwhile,SpokenEnglishinChina'scurrenteconomicconstruction,cultureandeducationexchangesandcooperationwithforeigncountriesalsoplaysadecisiverole,suchasinterviewsforjobs,foreignnegotiations,visitabroadandculturalexchangesareinseparablefromthespokenEnglish.Therefore,learningEnglishespeciallyoralEnglishisveryimportant
However,theEnglishlevelofcurrentChineseisuneven,moststudentsonlyhavealittlecommonlanguagecommunication,besidestheyareshytospeakinclass,whetherunderstandornot,theywon’tactivelycommunicatewiththeteachersandneedlesstosaytogototheEnglishCornertopracticeoralEnglish,whichreducetheopportunityoforalpractice,thereforedumbEnglishalsoformed.Inaddition,teachersmastertheclassroomandjusttransformknowledgetothestudentsmechanical,theteachingmodecenteredonstudentshasnotbeenfullyusedwidely.Teachersonlyteach,notleavingstudentstoenoughpracticetime.ThisphenomenonhasledtothestudyoforalEnglishtoformaninert.Symbolicallyaccepted,butfailedtobeinnovativeconvertedintousefulknowledge,atthesametimetheexaminationofEnglishlearningreducesthelearningenthusiasm.Facedwiththissituation,whatcanwedotochangeit?

Theimportanceofspeaking
SpeakingasoneofthefourlanguageskillshasplayedaveryimportantroleinEnglishteachinginmiddleschools.Allthecommunicationsareestablishedonthebasisofspeaking.Tobeabletohaveagoodpronunciationandtone,thatis,speakingwellcangiveyouconfidenceincommunication.Indailylifespeakingisthebestwaywhichmakethecommunicationofinformationbecomemorequickly,especiallyinthepresentsocietywithsuchquickdevelopmentofpeople’slifepace.soitisnecessaryforthestudentstodeveloptheabilityofspeaking.What’smore,withthereformationofnewprocessofteaching,itrequiresthatthestudentswillhavetheexpressingabilitytoreceiveandpassinformationinEnglishinrealoccasions.Butmanystudentsoftencanspeakwellinclassorinrelaxedoccasions,andwhentheyareputinarealcondition,theycan’t.Whydoesitappear?
Itisaffectedbymanyelements;oneoftheelementsistheirEnglishspeakingability...SoitdemandstheEnglishteachersinjuniorschoolstodevelopthestudent'sspeakingability.Anditisnecessaryfortheteacherstohelpthestudentsdeveloptheabilityofspeaking.
2.1Theimportanceofspeakingexistinginthelanguageofhumanbeings
"Languageisvocal;thismeansthatspeechistheprimarymediumoflanguage.While,writingissecondary.Firstly,foranylanguagespeechexistedlongbeforethewritingsystemcameintobeing.Eventodaylanguageswhichhavelonelyaspokenformoutnumberlanguagewhichhaveawell-developedwritingsystem.Secondly,normalchildrenalwayslearntospeakfirst.Theybegintoreadandwriteonlywhentheyhavereachedtheschoolage.Thirdly,speechismoreimportantthanwritingforpeople’sdailylife.Apersonwhocan'treadandwriteisonlyan‘illiterate’.However,apersonwhocan'tspeakisnormallyregardedas‘disabled’."(Gujiazu,2002)Sospeechisveryimportantinthedevelopmentofhumanbeings.
2.2Thepositionofspeakinginthefourlanguageskills
Ofthefourlanguageskills(listening,speaking,reading,&writing),listeningtakesthefirststep.However,communicationisatwo-wayactivity.Whenyoucanunderstandwhattheotherssaidtoyouis,however,youcan'texpressyourideasclearlybecauseofsomereasonsandthenthecommunicationcan’tbecontinued.Sothiscommunicationhastobecomeafail.
Duringthelearningofalanguage,listeningandreadingareaprocessofunderstandingandabsorption,speakingandwritingareaprocessofexpressionanduse.Understandingandabsorptionarefoundationwhileexpressionanduseareimprovement.Thatis,theformerisaprocessofinput;thelatterisaprocessofoutput.Withoutthelatter,thedevelopmentofthelanguagepracticalabilitytounderstandandabsorptionwillbemeaningless.
Thefinalaimoflanguageteachingistodevelopthestudents’abilitytocommunicateintheformofspokenandwritten.AndoftenthespokenEnglishismoreimportantthanthewrittenEnglishinlanguageusing.Especiallyinmodernsocietywithsoquickstep,undoubtedlyspeakingcommunicationisthequickestway.AlthoughinthemodernInternetworld,it'sconvenientforpeopletousetheE-mail,whentheywriteandreadtheE-mail,theywillspendmoretimethanspeakingdirectly.What’smore,writingcan'texactlyexpressthewriter’sfeelingssometimes,andthereadercan'tunderstandthewriter'sfeeling.Forexample,onepersonishappynow.Andhewantstotellhisfriendhispresentfeeling.Sohewritestohisfriendwhocan'tunderstandhisfeelingjustbyreadinghisletterorE-mailbetter.Butifhecanspeaktohisfrienddirectly,thenhisfriendcanknowhisfeelingbyhistoneorexpression.Andhecanalsoknowhowmuchhishappyis.Sothisisaquickanddirectspeakingeffect.
Meanwhile,readingandwritinghavenothiseffect.Ontheotherhand,itisonlyourtonguethatbuildsacommunicationbridgebetweenthelistenerandthespeaker.Thereby,thelisteningabilitymustrelyonthespeakinginaway.Moreover,itisprovedthatifthespeakingistrainedbest,itwillbehelpfulforstudents’confidencetolearnEnglish.
2.3Theimportanceofspeakingexistingintheteachingsyllabus
Theaimsofteachingsyllabusstipulatesthat“EnglishteachinginmiddleschoolsaremainlytotrainstudentstohaveadefinitefoundationoflisteningandspeakingsoastoattaintheaimtocommunicatecomprehensivelywithothersinEnglish.”(TeachingsyllabusforMiddleSchool,P2)ItrequirestheteachersofEnglishtoorganizetheir45-minuteclassinEnglishtocreatealivingandlivelyEnglishenvironmentofEnglishlearning.Thusthestudentslisteningandspeakingwillbespontaneouslytrainedandbepracticed.
2.4Newtestsfocusonspeakingatpresent,theteachingsyllabusstipulates.
“Examinationandtestshouldincludewrittenpart,listeningtestandoraltestaswell.”(TeachingsyllabusforMiddleSchoo,P9)Andnowyoucanfindlisteningtestinourallkindsoftests.Andmanyareastaketheoraltestasanimportantparttoestimatethestudents’comprehensivelevel.
However,asearlyastenyearsago,youcouldn'tfindtheoraltestinthefinalexamination.Evenyoudidn'thearofthewordof“oraltest”.Now,wecanseethatinthefinalexaminationthestudents’speakingabilityisverydifferentfromthoseintenyearsago.Theirintonationsandtonesandevenexpressionsaremuchbetter.Anditcontributestothedailytraining.SothevoicelessEnglishisincreasinglydeveloped.
What’smore,nowyouoftencanfindthattherearemanyEnglish-speakingcompetitionsonTVandmanyareasalsoholdallkindsofspeakingcompetitions.Atth
