Bodylanguagecomprisesgesture,stance,andfacialexpression.Theseareallthemoreimportantwhenalleyesofanaudienceareuponyou.Whenyouarepresenting,strong,positivebodylanguagebecomesanessentialtoolinhelpingyoubuildcredibility,expressyouremotions,andconnectwithyourlisteners.Italsohelpsyourlistenersfocusmoreintentlyonyouandwhatyou'resaying.Westartformingimpressionsofpeoplewemeetfromthemomentweseteyesonthem.Alargepartoftheinitialimpressionthatyoucreatecomesfromyourbodylanguage.Yourposture,facialexpression,eyecontact,andgesturesspeaklouderthanthewordsyousay.Weallinterpretbodylanguageallthetimeonasubconsciouslevel.

Thefaceisthemostexpressivepartofthebody.Ifyouarefeelinganxiousthenyourfacialexpressionmayleadyoutoappearaloof,disapproving,ordisinterested.Youcanbreakthismisrepresentationbymakingaconsciousefforttosmile.Yoursmileisoneofthestrongesttoolsyouhaveinmeetingnewpeople.Itwillhelpyouappearwarm,open,friendly,andconfident.

Ourface,eyes,hands(gestures),andpostureexpresswhatisgoingoninsideofus.Theygivecluestoothersandtousastowhetherthewordswesayareconsistentwithwhatwearereallyfeeling.Beingawareofourbodylanguagecanallowustosendaconsistentmessage.Smiling,makingeyecontact,usingopengestures,andusinggoodposturecanbringupourlevelofselfconfidence.

Theimportanceofbodylanguageisoftenmentioned,butdoesn'talwaysgettheattentionitdeserves.Afterall,beforeawordhasevenbeenspoken,yourbodylanguagewillhavealreadygivenpeopletheirfirstimpressionofyou.
Whattypeofpersonareyou?
Byusingwordsyoucanexplainwhattypeofeducationyouhavereceivedandwhatexperienceyouhavegainedsincethen.Youcanalsoshowthroughwordsthatyouknowwhatyou'retalkingaboutandyoucananswerquestionstoclarifymatters.Atthesametimehowever,yourbodylanguagewillalsogiveoutalotmoreinformation.Basedonyourbodylanguageitcanbeseenifyoucomeacrossasinsecureorself-assured.Itcanalsoshowifyouareabusyoraquiettypeandithelpsgiveanimpressionofwhetheryouarespeakingtruthfullyornot.Bodylanguagecanshowifyounotpronetostress.Itcanshowhowenthusiasticyouareandifyouareaniceperson,someonewhowilltakehisworkserious,butalsosomeonewhohasasenseofhumourandcanenjoyajokefromtimetotime.

Duringyourjobinterviewtrytoadoptaposturethatshowsinterestbutstillcomesacrossasbeingrelaxed.Youcandothisbysittingupstraightinyourchairatthebeginningoftheinterview,withyourbackagainstthebackofthechair.Ifyouslouchorhangsidewaysinyourchair,itmightgivetheimpressionthatyouarenotthatinterestedinthejob.However,sittingontheedgeofyourchaircancomeacrossasbeingalittletenseandmightgivetheimpressionthatyoufeeluncomfortable.
