Manyofthespeciesareunderthreatbecausetheyarehuntedbywildcats.Thesecatskillaround500,000nativeanimalsintheKimberleyregioneveryyear.Thespeciesfaceanotherthreat,too.Theirnativehabitatisalsobeingdestroyedbywildfireandbywilddonkeysandgoatsthatcompeteforfoodandwater.Humansintroducedcats,donkeysandgoatstoAustraliatobefarmanimalsorpets.However,theirwildpopulationshaveincreasedgreatlyintheregionbecausetheyhavefewnaturalpredators.
