Foreword

ThisstandardisnotequivalenttoISO630:

1995StructuralSteelsintherespectofconsistency.Themaindifferencesbetweenthetwostandardsareasfollows:

-Nogradesarespecifiedcorrespondingtotheyieldstrengthlevelsof185N/mm2and355N/mm2;

-GradesQ195andQ215arespecifiedcorrespondingtolevels195N/mm2and215N/mm2;

-ThephosphoruscontentsofclassAsteelsofQ235andQ275aredecreasedby0.005%;

ThethicknessofQ235classBsteelisdividedintotwolevelsaccordingtothedeoxidizationmethodandthecarboncontentis0.20%inbothlevels;

-Q235classBsteelofwhichthethicknessissmallerthan25mmmaynotbesubjecttotestwiththeconsentofthebuyerifthesuppliercanensurethattheimpactabsorbedenergyisuptostandard;

-TheyieldstrengthofQ275steelofwhichthethicknessisbiggerthan80mm~100mmisincreasedby10N/mm2;

-Coldbendingtestisadded;

-DetailedbatchingrulesarespecifiedaccordingtothesituationofChina.

ThisstandardreplacesGB/T700-1988CarbonStructuralSteelsandhasthefollowingchangesincomparisonwithGB/T700-1988:

-Semi-killedsteeliscancelledin“deoxidizationmethod”;

-GradesQ255andQ275inGB/T700-1988arecancelled;

-GradeE275inISO630:

1995isnewlyaddedandchangedtothenewgradeQ275;

-Thelowerlimitsofcarbonandmanganesecontentsofeachgradearecancelled,andtheupperlimitofmanganesecontentisincreased;

-Thelimitofsiliconcontentofrimmedsteelandkilledsteeliscancelled;

-siliconcontentischangedfrom0.30%to0.35%(exceptforQ195);

-ThephosphorusandsulphurcontentsofgradeQ195aredecreasedrespectivelyfrom0.045%and0.050%to0.035%and0.040%;

-Theregulationfortheelongationafterfractureofthethickness(ordiameter)levelofnotbiggerthan16mmiscancelled;

-“Theupperlimitofthetensilestrengthofwidestripsteel(includingshearedsteelplate)isnotusedasatermofdelivery”and“Q235classBsteelofwhichthethicknessissmallerthan25mmmaynotbesubjecttotestwiththeconsentofthebuyerifthesuppliercanensurethattheimpactabsorbedenergyisuptostandard”areaddedinthefootnotesofTable2;

-Theregulationforthenitrogencontentinthesteelismodified;

-Theregulationforimpacttestismodifiedandthefigureoftheminimumimpactabsorbedenergyofthesamplesofwhichthethicknessis5mm-10mmisadded;

-Thebasisofbatchingischangedfrom“thesamefurnaceandkettlenumber”to“thesamefurnacenumber”andthelimitationforthefurnacenumberofmixedbatchiscancelled.

ThemaindraftersofthisstandardareTangYifan,LuanYan,WangLiping,SunPing,ZhangXianfengandDaiQiang.

ThisstandardwasfirstissuedinJanuary1965,firstrevisedinOctober1979andrevisedforthesecondtimeinJune1988.

Carbonstructuralsteels

1Scope

Thisstandardspecifiesthegrade,dimension,shape,weightandpermissibledeviation,technicalrequirements,testmethods,inspectionrules,packing,markingandqualitycertificateofcarbonstructuralsteel.

Thisstandardisapplicabletothestructuralhotrolledsteelsheets,steelstrips,sectionalsteelsandbarsteelsgenerallyusedforwelding,rivetingandboltingengineeringindeliverystate.

Thechemicalcompositionspecifiedbythisstandardisalsoapplicabletosteelingots,continuouscastingbillets,steelbilletsandtheirproducts.

2Normativereferences

Thefollowingnormativedocumentscontainprovisionswhich,throughreferenceinthistext,constituteprovisionsofthisstandard.Fordatedreferences,subsequentamendments(notincludingcorrections)to,orrevisionsof,anyofthesepublicationsdonotapply.Howeverpartiestoagreementsbasedonthisstandardareencouragedtoinvestigatethepossibilityofapplyingthemostrecenteditionsofthenormativedocumentsindicatedbelow.Forundatedreferences,thelatesteditionofthenormativedocumentreferredtoapplies.

Q-FirstletterofChinesephoneticspellingforthe“Qu”wordofsteelyieldstrength;

A,B,C,D-arerespectivelyqualitygrade;

F-FirstletterofChinesephoneticspellingforthe“Fei”wordofrimmedsteel;

Z-FirstletterofChinesephoneticspellingforthe“Zhen”wordofkilledsteel;

TZ-FirstlettersofChinesespellingforthe“Tezhen”wordofspecialkilledsteel.

Thedimension,shape,weightandpermissibledeviationofsteelsheets,steelstrips,sectionalsteelsandbarsteelsshallmeetthespecificationofthecorrespondingstandardsrespectively.
