BUTTERFLY - isabouttransformation.Butterflyfearlesslyleavesthesafetyofitscocoontomeetanewworldinanewform,trustingitsuntriedwingstoallowittofly.Itisapowerfulsymbolforanyonewho'scontemplatingorinthemidstofamajorchange.  Itisaboutbringingcolorandjoytoourlives,learningtodancewithjoyaswemakethosechangesinourlivestransformingusandourlives.

CANADIANGOOSE- remindusoftheSacredCircle,howlifecyclesonandaboutfamily. ThemigrationofCanadianGeesemarksthepassagesoftheGreatCircleoftheYear,andremindsusofthesacrednessofthecyclesofourownlife. Wecanalsolearnfromthecooperativeandcommunalbehaviorofthesebirds,whoneverabandonasickorwoundedmemberoftheflock,andwhoknowwhentoleadandwhentoseekguidanceandfollow.  Thegooseisalsoabouttravelingtodistantplaces,itisaboutbreakingfreefromoneplacetomoveoninyourlifeinordertosurvive. Ifyouarestuckinanoldpattern,goosecanhelpyoumoveforwardbringingnewpatternsin.

CANARY-itisaboutthepowerofmusic,thevoiceandsong. Learningtousethepowerofmusictohealyourlife,toconnecttotheuniverse. Wehaveatendencytoforgetjusthowpowerfulmusiccanbe,itcanchangeourbrainwavesandmakeentryintodifferentmeditativestatespossibleforthoseofuswhocannotquietthemindonourown.

CAT- bringsustowholenessandactsasaspirituallinkbetweenhumansandtheuniverse.  Itisaboutmagic,mysteryandbeingindependent.  Thecat,acreaturewhichcombinesahighdegreeofsensualitywithadeeplypsychicandspiritualnature,teachesusthatthephysicalandspiritualworldsarenotseparate,butone. Becarefulwhenyourcatdoesnottaketosomeone-youdonotwantthemaroundyou.

CHEETAH- teachesusaboutspeedandfocus. Unlikeotherfelineswhostalk,thenpounceontheirpreyforthekill,cheetahs,thefastestfour-footedanimalsalive,rundowntheirprey.Theirlessontousisthatofaccomplishingourgoalswithspeedandfocus.Whenwefeelstuck,cheetahmedicinecanlaunchusintomotion.Ifwearemovingwithgreatspeedbutlittledirection,cheetahenergyhelpsustokeepoureyesonourgoalsandtofindthemostdirectwayofachievingthem.

CHIMPANZEE- remindsustoliveinharmony.Chimpanzeesareclosetohumansontheevolutionaryscale,andthemedicineofthisanimalcanhelptorestoretousthesimplewaysoflifethatcreatejoy.Chimpanzeemedicinecannurtureinusplayfulness,curiosity,andselfexpression. Theyteachusaboutlivinginacommunityandbeingpartofthegroupandfamily,takingcareofoneanother.

COUGAR-isaboutpersonalpower. Whencougarappearsinourlife,itistimetolearnaboutpower,strength,andusingthepersonaltoolswehavebeengiftedwithbyspirit. Learningtobeassertive.

COYOTE- isthetrickster. Whenwe'rebeingtooseriousaboutlifeCoyotemaycomealongtoteachustolaughatourselves. Itisalsothekarmicenforcer,remindingusthatwhateverwedotootherswillbedonetous. Learningtobalancewisdomwithasenseofhumortomakelifeworkforus.

CROW- integrityanddoinguntoothersaswewouldlikethemtodotous.  Crowteachesustoknowourselvesbeyondthelimitationsofone-dimensionalthinkingandlaws. Itisaboutbringingmagicintoourlives.  Thisanimalteachestoappreciatethemanydimensionsbothofrealityandourselves,andtolearntotrustourintuitionandpersonalintegrity. Thereismagicwherevercrowsare. Theygiveusthemessagethatthereismagicaliveinourworldandthismagicisourstouseandcreateanewworldforourselveswith.

DEER- gentlenessandunconditionallove.ThepowerofDeermedicineisthatofunconditionallove.Onlylove,bothforourselvesandforothers,candissolvethebarrierswhichpreventusfromrealizingwholeness. Begentlewithothersandself.

DOGS-protection,companionship,faithfulness. Whendogcomesintoourlivesitistoteachusaboutbeingacompaniontoothers,beingloyalandprotectingothers.

DOLPHIN-bringstous earthwisdom. DolphinteachesusthatinattuningtotherhythmsandpatternsofnaturewecanlearntruecommunicationwiththewisdomofAllThatIsandsharethiswisdomwithothers. Itisalsoaboutlearningtobreathe,weforgetsometimestobreathedeeplyandfully. Rememberthattobreatheistolive.

DOVE-remindsushowimportantpeaceis.ThepeacesymbolizedbyDoveisthatofthedeepestkind.Itquietsourworriedandtroubledthoughts,andallowsustofindrenewalinthesilenceofmind.Insuchmomentsofstillnessweareabletoappreciatesimpleblessings. Itremindsusthatnomatterwhatishappeninginourlives,therearealwaysnewpossibilitiesopentous.

DRAGON-teachesusabouttransformation.ThoughCeltictraditiongivesspecificqualitiesfordragonsoftheelementsofearth,fire,water,andair,ingeneralterms,Dragon'spoweristhatofsheddingitsskinandemergingasanew,transformedbeing. Dragonisalsoaboutmagic,usingthemagicwithintotransformyourlife.

EAGLE- remindsusofcourageandspirit. Eaglefliesfearlessly,bridgingheavenandearth,andteachesustocourageouslyfaceourfearoftheunknowninordertoflyashighasourheart'sjoycantakeus. Findingoutthetrueemotionalaspectswithinself,usingthemtorediscoverthechildwithin,andawakenahighersenseofpassion,creativity,spirituality,strengthandhealing.

ELEPHANT-   canteachusthepowerofgentleness,commitment,andcommunicationinrelationships.Theyarearedeeplycommittedtoallcreatureswithwhomtheyhaverelationships,arepowerfulwhenprotectingothersandgentleinnurturingthem.Thematriarchofaherdpracticesleadershipinawaythatisbothgentleandinclusive.Elephants'abilitytocommunicatetelepathicallycanteachushowtotrulylistentoothers.

ELK- isaboutstaminaandstrength.Thismedicineteachesusthebestuseofourenergy,helpingustotakeonnomorethanweneedtoaccomplish,andtoendureonourchosenpathuntilwe'vereachedourgoals.
