   “WeareseeingawidecrosssectionofAustralians—households,communitycenters,schools,andsmallbusinesses—receivingrewardsunderthesmallscalerenewableenergyscheme,”Williamsonsaid,“Ourdatashowsconsumersareembracingrenewableenergytotakecontroloftheirelectricitybills.”

   In2017,therewasa41%increaseininstallingrenewableenergycapacityacrossallstatesandterritoriescomparedto2016.Queenslandledthewaywithinstalledcapacityat295MW,withtheAustralianCapitalTerritorytakingtopplaceforthebiggestannualincreaseby57%.“IhedatacollectedbytheCleanEnergyRegulatorin2017reflectstheindustryisgoingfromstrengthtostrength,Itlookslike2018willbeanotherbigyearforthesolarindustry.”
