MichaelMcFarlen,oneMichiganchefandtheVicePresidentofFoodandBeverageatFireKeepersCasinoHotel,couldn'tstandthrowingawayperfectlygoodfoodanymoresinceheknewhowmanypeopleinhiscommunityfacedfoodinsecurity.Sohedecidedtodosomething.

Atonepoint,McFarlendecidedtogetinvolvedwiththeSouthCentralFoodBankofMichiganInc.tohelpgivebacktothoseinneed.Afterthat,heknewhehadtodomoretohelphiscommunityandreducehisfoodwaste.

McFarlencameupwithaplantoopenarestaurantinthecommunitythatwouldalsohelpsupportafoodpantry（储藏室）.AfterpresentingtheideatoFireKeepersleadership,theyimmediatelyapprovedtheplanandagreedtohelpMcFarlenrealizehisdream.
