theChinesedreamisadreamofnationalstrengthprosperityandpeople’shappiness.Ourpeoplehaveanardentloveforlife.Theywishtohavebettereducation,morestablejobs,moreincome,greatersocialsecurity,bettermedicalandhealthcare,improvedhousingconditionsandbetterenvironment,Theywanttheirchildrentogrowwell,haveidealjobsandleadamoreenjoyablelife.Tomeettheirdesireforahappylifeisourmission.

Healsoexpoundedhisviewsofrealizingourgreatdream.Hesaid:

Torealizethedream,ChinamusttaketheroadofsocialismwithChinesecharacteristics.ThecountrymustalsofostertheChinesespirit,inwhichpatriotismandthespiritofreformandinnovationplayacorerole,andunite1.3billionpeopleofallethnicitiesintoagreatsourceofstrength.

IalwaysaskmyselfwhatcanIdoforourgreatChinesedream?

Asweallknowthatthewisertheyouthsare,thewiserthenationwillbe；thewealthiertheyouthsare,thewealthierthenationwillbe；thestrongertheyouthsare,thestrongerthenationwillbe.Herethewordwealthymeans:

enrichingourknowledgereserve.Asanewgenerationofscience,everyonehereshoulderingthegreathistoricalmissionofmakingchinapowerfulandstrong.Youmaysaythatthismayexaggerateourrole,butIwanttosayyouarewrong.IfIamalittlescrewourgreatdreammaybeamultifunctionandcomplexmachine.ThroughthisexampleIjustwanttosayIamverytinybutIamindispensable.

PresidentXialsosaid:

Dreamisbeautiful,itisthebottomofmyheartthemostbeautifulexpectations,sothedreamalsobecomeourlong-heldbeliefs.Andmydreamistoletmycountrybecomestrong.

ThevariouskindsofproductsindelicateChinesestores,innsandshopsinevitablyhavethesignof“MadeinChina”。

EvenifsomepeopledonotspeakEnglish,afterviewingplentyofthosegoods,arecapableofidentifyingthishigh-frequencyphrase.

WhenMr.Xumentioned“MadeinChina”duringsocialscienceclasswhenexplainingconcepts,hesolelyreferredtothisphraseandwisheditcouldbecome“DesignedbyChina”inthefutureinaregretfulvoice.However,whenIheardhiswords,myheartthumped.Itisindeedtruethatatpresent,mostofthemiscellaneousgoodsaremadeinChinainsteadofdesignedbyChina.Forinstance,someofmypenshavethelabelof“DesignedbyKoreaMadeinChina”.

IstillremembertheindignationfrommyheartlasttimewhenIsawthenewsthatanumberofmultinationalcompaniesmadeuseofthelowstandardof“MadeinChina”toproduceillegitimateproducts.Fromthaton,Ihaveadream.Ihaveadreamthatonedaythosepitiable“MadeinChina”labelscantransferinto“DesignedbyChina”oreven“Chinapatenttechnology”。

ThoughIamneitheraprofessionalengineer,norasophisticateddesigner,Iamonlyastudentwhohasnospecializedknowledgeaboutinvention.Nevertheless,Ialwayshavethedreamthattherewillbeless“MadeinChina”andmore“DesignedbyChina”。

Withoutactions,determinatecanonlyberemotedreamsgeneratedfrommymind.Isaidtomyselfsilently,onlywhenItakeactionscanthedreamsbecomeclosertofacts.Forinstance,Ishouldbemorefocusedwhenhavingscienceclass,shouldtakesomeinventiveextracurricularactivities,shouldknowmoreaboutlifetimestoriesofrenownedinventorsshouldbeanactiveobserver,shouldsuggestotherstoact.Throughtheseways,thedreamsaremorelikelytobecomelessremoteandthepitiful“MadeinChina”aremorelikelytodiminish.

Unconsciously,Ithinkoftheabstractword“patriotism”。

Some“patriots”resisttheconsumptionofJapaneseproducts.Some“patriots”damageJapanmanufacturedcars.Some“patriots”makehumiliatingGIFsaboutJapan.Some“patriots”attackcountriesthatdonotadmittheChina’ssovereigntyofDiaoyuIsland.Theexamplesareendless.Attheirpointsofview,thesearedemonstrationsofpatriotism.Nonetheless,theseactionsmaybetooimpulsive.Probably,itisabetterwaythatwecanearnrespectfromforeignnationsviamakingChinaamorepowerfulcountryintermsofeconomicspolitics.

Idonotknow.Butinmyheart,IhaveafirmbeliefthatothercountriescanrespectChinagenuinelyfromthechangeof“MadeinChina”to“DesignedbyChina”.

Finally,Iwanttosay:

Wearethehopeofourmotherland,weshouldinheritthetraditionofexcellence,strivetoadvancedcountrycontributesownstrength.Here,Ihaveakindofinarticulatetouchedandproud.IfortheconstructionoftheChinesepeoplefeelproud,proudofthemselvesaspartofthisgreatcountry!
