Oh,ALexanderGrahahlBellwasshoweredwiththepraiseoftheworld.Honorscametohimfromallthepointsofthecompass.Yes,hewouldgoontootherdiscoveries,manyofthem.Butinhisownview,hewasmostproudofhiseffortstohelpthedeaf.So,whenthegovernmentofFranceawardedhimtheVoltaPrizeforinventingthetelephone,hecombinedthismonetaryawardwiththemoneyhemadefromsellingthepatentonanotherinventiontoestablishtheVoltaBureauinWashington,D.C..Itspurposewastofundresearchondeafness.
Today,itiscalledtheAlexanderGrahamBellAssociation.Itsrolehasbeenchangedtoprovidingthelatestinformationtothedeafoftheworldonhowbesttocopewiththeirdisability.
