6Mostofbusinesspeopleareonlymotivatedbythedesireofmoney.
Inmodernsociety,moneyisofgreatimportanceforeveryindividual,especiallyforthosewhowantstoliveabetterlife,therefore,peoplegotobusinessmotivatedbythedesireofmoney.However,itisnotthattheyareONLYmotivatedbymoney,peoplewouldtakemanyaspectsintoconsideration,suchasopportunitiesforpromotion,interest,socialresponsibility,dreams,etc.,whentheyaredoingabusiness.Admittedly,alargequantityofpeoplebelievethatmoneyplaysthemostsignificantroleindoingbusinesseswhiletherearealsoagreatdealofpeoplewhoholdthecontrarybelief.Frommypersonalperspective,Iamconvincedthatmoneyisnottheonlymotiveformostofbusinesspeople.
Admittedly,undernocircumstancesshouldwedenythefactthatmoneyisofgreatmagnitudeforabusinessmanbecausehisbusinesscannotcontinuewithoutmoneyandthatmakingmoneyisoneofhismainpurposes,especiallyforthosepeoplewhoareonlymotivatedbymoney,atleasttemporarily.Toillustratethisviewpointvividly,Iwouldliketotakemyuncleasanexample.Myuncleisrunningacoatingmaterialbusiness,buthismotiveisnothingbutmoney,because,firstly,hehastofeedhisfamily,andsecondly,it’shisdreamtomakebigmoney.Fortunately,hesucceededinmakingabigfortunelastyear.Actually,therearesomanypeopleonthisplanetwhoarejustmoney-motivated,atleast,attheearlystageofhisbusiness,becausetheycanonlyhaveothermotivationswhentheyhavealreadymadeenoughmoney.
However,itwillbeprejudicedtooverstatetheimportanceofmoneyforbusinessmen,becausedifferentbusinessmenhavedifferentpurposesbydoingbusiness.Forexample,thebossofacoalminedefinitelyhasdifferentpurposesthroughdoingbusinessfromtheCEOofApple,Inc.Theformerwouldjustwanttomakemoneyratherthansavetheworldthroughsellingcoals;whileSteveJobs,astheformerCEOofApple,Inc.,wasaimedtochangetheworldwiththeiPhonethecompanysells,andtowardshim,makingmoneywasjustsecondary.Therefore,undernocircumstancesshouldweneglecttheothermotivationsofabusinessman,suchasfulfillinghisdream,helpingthesocietyandsoon.Chinahasawell-knownmobilephonecompanycalledXiaomiTechnology,itsCEO,LeiJun,startedthiscompanywiththewishoffulfillinghisdreamofbuildingthetop-classcompanyintheworld,andheusedtodeclarethathiscompanywouldn’tmakemuchmoneyinshortyears,however,heneverstopspursuinghisdream,consequentlynewgenerationsofXiaomiareproducedoneafteranother.Additionally,thereisstillanothervividexample.AnentrepreneurnamedChenGuangbiaoalwaystakescharityashistoppriority,hespends40%ofhistimeondoingbusinesswhile60%onconductingcharityactivities.In2008,hedonatedmoneytoWenchuan,theearthquake-strickenareainthefirsttimeandin2010,hedeclaredthatallhisfortunewillbedonatedafterhisdeath.Basedontheexamplesabove,itisarbitrarytostatethatmostofbusinesspeopleareonlymotivatedbythedesireofmoney.
Inaword,differentbusinessmenaremotivatedbydifferentpurposes,weshouldnotoverestimatetherolemoneyplaysasamotiveandneglectthemagnitudeofothermotives.Hence,Icannottotallyagreewiththeabovestatement.
7.Weshouldneverbeimpolitetoothersinthemodernsociety.
Whenitcomestotheissuewhetherweshouldalwaysbepolitetoothersinthemodernsociety,differentindividualsmayhaveavarietyofopinions.Somepeopleholdpositiveattitudetowardsthisstatementwhileothersobjecttoit.However,frommyperspective,Idisagreewithitforthereasonthatitfailstotakealltherelatedcircumstancesintoconsideration.Forinstance,whenweareinsultedbysomeonewhobehavesratherrudetous,wecouldn’tkeepbeingpolitetothem,orwewouldgetmoreoralattacksfromthiskindofpeople.
Nevertheless,whatIhavetoadmitisthatundernocircumstancesshouldweoverlookthefactthatbeingpolitetootherpeopleplaysapositiveroleinourdailylivesorworkingplaces.Firstly,beingpolitecanhelpdecreaseinterpersonalconflicts;secondly,politenesscanimprovetheefficiencyinworkingplaces,thirdly,goodmannerscanhelpbuildyourpublicimagewhichmakesyouhavemorefriendsandotherslikeyoumore.Alargenumberofconvincingexamplescanbeeasilyfoundinourlives,andIwouldliketotakemyselfasanexampletoillustratethisperspective.IusedtoworkasakidEnglishteacherinatrainingcenter.Sometimes,parentswouldcometoourschoolandarguewithusbecausetheirkidsdidn'tmakeagreatperformanceatschool.Theirattitudeswerealwayssorudethatitwasveryeasyforustolosetemper,but,we,asteachers,hadtokeepcalmandbepolitesothatwecouldgetthesekindofissuesresolved.Notonlyinworkingplacesbutalsoindailylivesshouldwekeepapoliteattitudetoavoidconflictorevenafighttohappen.Asknowntoall,thetrafficinrushhourinBeijingissoheavythatbusesandsubwaysareextremelycrowdedwithagreatdealofpeople,underthiscircumstance,itisunavoidableforsomeonetopushornudgeanotherperson,ifwelosetemperandimpolitelypushback,aquarrelorevenafightwouldpossiblyhappen,whichisnotnecessary.Therefore,itissignificanttokeeppoliteinoursociety.
However,thereisstillnoreasonforustooverstatethesignificanceofkeepingagoodmannerandoverlookthedisadvantagesofitduetothetruththattherearesomeotherspecificcircumstancesunderwhichthisstatementisnotreasonable.Forexample,whenwearenotwelltreated,wecannotkeepacourteousmanner,orourbenefitswillbeendangered,underthiscondition,wemustdosomethingtoprotectourinterestsevenifwetakesomeimpoliteactions.Myfriend,Jeremy,usedtopart-timeasapromotionstaffinasupermarketforamonth,butitturnedoutthathisleaderhadbeenkeepinghiswagesformorethantwomonths,whichreallyoffendedhim.Untiloneday,hecouldn'tendureitanymoreandhadafuriousargumentwiththeleader.Fortunately,hegothismoneyback.Asthisexampleshown,sometimesrudenessisnecessarywhendealingwithpeoplewhodon'thaveanygoodmannersatall.
Inbrief,basedonthepreviousdiscussion,theissuewhetherweshouldalwaysbepoliterequirescomprehensiveanalysis.Wearenotsupposedtooverlookthedisadvantagesofbeingpoliteinsomecircumstances.Asaresult,Icannottotallyagreewiththisstatement.

Overthepastfewdecades,asknowntoall,moviesandtelevisionprogramshavebecomeindispensablepartsofourdailylife,fortheynotonlyentertaintheviewersbutenlightenthem.Differentindividualsmayhaveavarietyofopinionswhenitcomestotheissuewhetherfilmsandtelevisiondramasshouldpresentstoriesinwhichtheevilarepunishedandgoodmenhaveahappyending.Somepeopleclaimthatitisgoodformoviesandtelevisionstodolikethis.However,frommyperspective,Iregardthisassertionasarbitraryandunilateral,Ijustpartlyagreewithitforthereasonthatitfailstotakealltherelatedcircumstancesintoconsideration.
