  Morethanahundredyearsago,agroupofmen,womenandchildrenmovedfromtheeasttothewest.Theyhadtravelledalongway.Atlastthesebravepeoplecametothegreatmountainsbythesaltlake.Theycrossedthemountainsandreachedthisquietplace.Theydecidedtostayhere,andsotheybuilttheirhomesandmadetheirfarms.ThiswaswhereSaltLakeCitynowlies.

  Thepeoplehadtoworkhardontheirfarms,becausetheirlivesdependedontheircrops.

  Onedaywhiletheywereworkingintheirfield,somefarmerssawsomethingstrangeinthesky.

  Thewordsputfearintotheheartofall,becausetheyknewwhatlocustscoulddo,andtheyhadneverseensomanyofthembefore.

  Innotimethelocustscamedownandstartedeatingandeverything-thewheat,thecorn,thegrassandtheleavesonthetrees.

  Thefarmersbroughtoutthingstofightthelocusts.Theytriedeverything.Butwhiletheywerekillingthelocustsinoneplace,millionsmorearrivedinanother.Whatcouldthefarmersdo?

  Suddenlytherewasagreatnoise.Astheylookedup,theysawanothercloudcomingtowardsthem.Totheirsurprise,theysawnotlocuststhistime,butseagulls.Thefarmerscriedout,"Theyvecametoeatwhatthelocustshaveleft。
