状语从句

在句中作状语的从句叫状语从句。

有以下不同类型的从句：

一、时间状语从句：

（引导词有：

when,while,as（当…时候；随着时间的发展）,before,after,since（自从）；until,till,assoonas/themoment/theminute/immediately/nosooner…than/hardly…when（一…就）;everytime,nexttime,once（一旦）…

1.WhenIlivedthere,IusedtogototheseashoreonSundays.

*when=andatthattime正当那时

Wewerehavingameeting__________someonebrokein.

2.*while引导的动作必须是持续性的，侧重主句和从句动作同时进行。

（=duringtheperiodoftime）

Don’ttalksoloudlywhileothersareworking.

*while表示对比，可作并列连词。

“而，却”

e.g.Helikescountrymusic,whileIamfondoffolkmusic.

3.As引导持续性动作，表示主句和从句动作同时发生，意为“一边…一边”

Johnsingsas/whileheworks.Hewhistledashehadabath.IlistenedtomusicasIread.

4.as还表示“随着时间的推移”“一边…一边”

Astimegoesby,therewillbegreaterchangeshere.

5.until,till,not…until

Untilyoutoldme,Ihadnoideaofit.=Ididn’thaveanyideaofituntil/tillyoutoldme.

Heremainedthereuntilshearrived.

6.*before

Beforetheyreachedthestation,thetrainhadgone.

Wehadsailedfourdaysandfoursnightsbeforewesawland.（…四天四夜才….）

ItwasalongtimebeforeImethimagain.（过了很久我才又见到他。

）

二、地点状语从句（引导词有：

where,wherever）

Wherethereisawill,thereisaway.

三、原因状语从句

（引导词有：

because;as“因为”；since/nowthat“既然”表示大家都明白的事实）

--BecauseIamill.

Nowthat/Sinceyouarenotinterestedinit,Iwon’ttellyouaboutthat.

becauseof,thanksto,dueto,owingto只接名词或动名词短语，表示原因，但不是状语从句。

四、目的状语从句（引导词有：

sothat;inorderthat“以便于”从句中常用情态动词）

五、结果状语从句（引导词有：

so…that,such…that“如此…以致于”）

六、条件状语从句（引导词有：

if,unless（=if…not）,so/aslongas,incase…等,从句中不用将来时）

七、方式状语从句（引导词有：

as“按照”,asif/asthough“似乎”，“仿佛”可引导陈述语气或虚拟语气。

IfeelasifIhaveafever.Theexpressiononherfaceseemedasifshehadknownthenews.

八、让步状语从句（引导词有：

although/though“虽然”,as“虽然”,eventhough/evenif“即使”,

从句由although/though/as引导时，主句前不用but,但可以用yet,still,nevertheless等副词。

Heisunhappythough/althoughhehasalotofmoney.

Although/Thoughitwasraininghard,yettheywentonplayingfootball.

Hesaidhewouldcome;hedidn’t,though.（though用作副词“可是，然而”，放在句末，不能用although.）

*whether…or“不管…还是”；疑问词+ever=nomatter+疑问词（e.g.whatever=nomatterwhat）
