Authors'attentionisdrawntothenewstyleforlistingreferencescitedinmanuscriptssubmitted.MPublishing,whichprovidespublishingservicestoArkivoc,isnowamemberofCrossRef,andconsequently,DOIs（digitalobjectidentifiers）arebeingassignedtoallArkivocpapersthathavebeenpublished.ThisshouldhelptoensuremaximumvisibilityofyourworkpublishedinArkivocsincethislinkingsystemisusedbyallmajorjournals.ParticipationinthesystemrequiresthatallreferencescitedshouldincludeaDOIwhenoneisavailable.WeaskforyourcooperationinusingthenewstyletofacilitateourworkinassigningDOIstoreferences.ItisnotnecessaryforauthorstoprovideDOIs. PleaserefertotheArkivocInstructionstoAuthors（Section2.2.16）forfulldetailsoftheformatforreferencecitingandlisting.Manuscriptsthatdonotusethecorrectformatwillbereturnedtoauthorsforrevisionpriortoreview.

1.EditorialPolicyofArkivoc 

1.1Manuscriptrequirements

Itistheresponsibilityoftheseniorauthortoensurethatallnamedauthorshavemadeasignificantcontributiontotheworkdescribedinthemanuscriptandthatallauthors haveseenandapproved themanuscriptpriortosubmission.

Themanuscriptofafullpapermustbebasedon originalresearch bytheauthorsandtheworkmustnothavebeenpublishedpreviouslyeitherinprintorelectronicformat（exception:

dissertations）.

ManuscriptsshouldbesubmittedtoArkivoconanexclusivebasisandmustnotbeundersimultaneousconsiderationbyanotherjournal.

Ifreferenceismadetoanunpublishedpaper（“submitted”or“inpress”）,acopyofthatmanuscriptshouldbeprovidedbytheauthorwiththesubmission.

MedicinalChemistry. Arkivocisanorganicchemistryjournalanddoesnotpublishpapersthatareprimarilyconcernedwithmedicinalchemistry.Thejournaldoespublishmanuscriptswithsomemedicinalchemistrycontentifthesyntheticchemistryisnovelandofgeneralinteresttoorganicchemists.Biologicaltestresults,ifincluded,shouldformonlyaminorpartofthemanuscript,andbiologicalresultsthatareparticularlysignificantorpromisingaremoresuitableforamedicinalchemistryjournal.Thefinaldecisiontopublishsuchpapersresideswiththeeditors.

1.2Evaluationofmanuscripts

ContributionswillbeevaluatedinitiallybythePrimaryReviewCommittee.ManuscriptsthatfulfiltheessentialscientificandeditorialrequirementsforpublicationinArkivocwillbereviewedbytwoormoremembersoftheEditorialBoardofRefereeswhoadvisetheScientificEditorsonthesuitabilityforpublication.Authorsarerequestedtosubmit threesuggestionsforreferees.

Manuscriptsthatareunsoundorhaveinadequatecharacterizationofnewcompoundswillnotbeaccepted.

1.3Dateofreceipt

The"dateofreceipt"recordedinthepublishedarticlewillbethedatewhenacompletesubmissionthatsatisfiesalltherequirementsoftheTechnicalEditorisreceivedintheeditorialoffice.

2.PreparationofManuscript,SupplementaryMaterials,andGraphicalAbstract

2.1Manuscripttext

BecauseArkivocispublishedonlineandinaprintedversion,itisessentialthatthefilesforbothversionsarecompatible.Inordertoachievethis,authorsarerequiredtousetheappropriatetemplateforthepreparationofa paper, account,orreview.If,fortechnicalreasons,thisisnotpossible,thefollowingformatmustbestrictlyadheredto.Failuretocomplywillresultinthepaperbeingreturnedforamendmentsbeforefurtherconsideration.Authorsshouldrefertothesamplepaperorreviewforprecisedetailsoflayoutandformat.Forguidanceongrammar,andchemical-usageinthepreparationofmanuscriptsauthorsarerecommendedtoconsult TheACSStyleGuide,Coghill,A.M.;Garson,L.R.Eds.;3rdEdn.;OxfordUniversityPress,2006（ISBN-13;978-0-8412-3999-9）.Inacaseofconflictbetweenthesesources,followusageina recent Arkivocpaperonthewebsite.

2.2.3Title

Thetitleshouldclearlydescribethepurposeofthepaperandshouldnotincludeabbreviations（16pt,bold,centered;followedbyoneemptyline）.Onlythefirstletterofthetitleandofpropernamesinthetitle（e.g.,Lewisacid）shouldbecapitalized.
