Pigeonshavebeenusedasmessengersfor500years,becauseoftheirspecialabilitytofindhome.Themysteryofthehomingpigeonisonhowitnavigatesandhowitfindshome.Wenowknowthattherearetwowaysthatpigeonstelldirections.First,theyusethesun.Justgettingroughdirectionsfromthesuniseasy.However,gettingaccuratedirectionsfromthesuntakesmorecare.Totelldirectionaccuratelyfromthesun,oneneedstoknowtheexacttime.

Allplantsandanimalsseemtohavebuilt-inclocks.Usuallythesebiologicalclocksarenotquiteexactinmeasuringtime.However,theyworkprettywell,becausetheyare“reset”everyday,maybewhenthesungetsup.
