  Asfarasanationisconcerned,crisiscanberenderedbeneficial.TakeWenchuanearthquakewhichshookmostofSichuanrecentlyforexample.ThecrisishascostusChinesealot.Housescollapsed,bridgesbrokedownandmanyaffectedareaswerecutofffromtheoutsideworld.Nearlyamillionpeoplelosttheirhomes,tenthousandsofpeoplewereinjuredandanothertenthousandsofpeoplewerekilled.Butoursufferingswon'tgoinvain.Scientistsaremoredeterminedtoimprovethemeansbywhichweforecastearthquakeswithmoreaccuracy.Weshouldbuildhouseswhichcansurvivethedestructiveearthquakes.Andwealsoshouldbetterthemechanismtofacetheemergenciesandcrisis.

  Asforeconomiclife,crisesarenotalwaysrenderedbad.Duringthesetimes,wecanstoptheraceoffasteconomytospeculateaboutsomefundamentalissuesofhumanitysuchashowmuchhigh-speeddevelopmentinthiswaycancontributetothewell-beingofhumanlife.Justtakemyowncountryforinstance.Ofcourse,inthepasttwodecadesorso,oureconomyhasgainedthehighestspeedmanhasexperienced.Buthaven'twepaidtoomuch?

  However,someadvantagesforbuyingbooksaremoreobviousandcompelling.Oneofthem,definitelynotsharedbythechoiceofborrowingbooks,istheabundanceoffreedomthatbuyingbookscanofferus.Sincewecankeepthebooksaslongaswewish,wecanreadasmuchaswewant.Anotherstrengthofowingbooksisthatwecantakewhatevernotesonthemarginofthepagesofthebooks.Andfinally,theprocessofselectingandkeepingbookscanbeagreatfunthatborrowingbookscanbynomeansoffer.
