Firstly,weshouldbeabletousecomputers.Ifwearegoodatcomputer,wecansurfonlineandlearntheonlineknowledgeofferedbydistanceeducation.Secondly,weshouldmakeastudyplanbeforeanewsemesterbegins.Remember20newwordsandreadanEnglisharticleinChinaDailyeveryday.

Therearealsomanyotherthingsneeded.Allinall,ifwespendenoughtime,wewillachievesuccessofdistancelearning.

Now,IamastudentinShanghaiTVuniversity,inotherwords,Iamadistancelearner.Ihavealotofexpectationsonmydistanceeducation.Firstly,IhopetoimprovemyspokenEnglish.Iworkinaforeigninvestedcompany.Mybossisaforeigner.IneedtotalkwithhiminEnglisheveryday.SoIwouldliketoimprovemyspokenEnglishverymuch.Secondly,IhopetoimprovemyEnglishwritingability.IneedtoreceiveandansweremailsinEnglisheveryday,butIdon’tknowmanyEnglishwords.Theseabovearemyexpectationsofthelong-distanceeducation.

WeshouldchooseagoodEnglish-Chinesedictionary.IttellsusthemeaningoftheEnglishwordsinChinese.Whenyoumeetanewword,don'tusethedictionaryatonce.Tryyourbesttothinkaboutwhatitmeansbeforeyoulookitupinthedictionary.Ifyoucan'tguessthemeaning,lookitupinthedictionary.IfyouusethedictionaryasoftenaspossibleinyourEnglishlearning,itwillbecomeyourgoodfriend.
