Challenges

ThefestivalisnowseekingpermissionfromEnvironmentCanadatorelocatethenestsome50metersawayortakeittoawildlifecenter.

Movingthenestwouldalsoensurethebirdanditsyoungwouldbeprotectedduringthefestival’s11-dayrun,saidMonahan.It’shighlylikelythatthefestival’sthousandsofattendeeswouldcausehugeproblemsforthebirdanditseggs.

Monahanwasconfidentthatthefestivalwouldgoonasplanned,however.

“Mostofthepeoplewe’reworkingwitharelookingforapositivesolution,”Monahansaid.“Thereisnoonesayingthatthefestivalcan’tgoon.”
