Despiterecordnumbersofvisitorstoourparks,thevastmajorityarewhitepeople,andAfricanAmericansinparticularareseverelyunderrepresented.TheParkServicedoesn’tregularlytrackattendancenumbersbyraceorethnicity,butthemostrecentsurveyforthesystemfoundthatminoritiesasawholemakeuponly22percentofvisitorstoourparks,eventhoughtheycomprisenearly40percentoftheU.S.population.
先不管来参观公园的人数记录是多少,但绝大多数游客都是白人,非洲裔美国人尤其不被重视。
国家公园管理局不总是以种族来分别记录游客人数,但最近的调查显示,少数种族的群体全加一起也只占游客总数22%,尽管美国人中有近40%都是少数种族群体。
