THISISALEGALAGREEMENTBETWEENMICROSOFTCORPORATION（"MICROSOFT"）ANDTHERECIPIENTOFTHESEMATERIALS,WHETHERANINDIVIDUALORANENTITY（"YOU"）.IFYOUHAVEACCESSEDTHISAGREEMENTINTHEPROCESSOFDOWNLOADINGMATERIALS（"MATERIALS"）FROMAMICROSOFTWEBSITE,BYCLICKING"IACCEPT",DOWNLOADING,USINGORPROVIDINGFEEDBACKONTHEMATERIALS,YOUAGREETOTHESETERMS.IFTHISAGREEMENTISATTACHEDTOMATERIALS,BYACCESSING,USINGORPROVIDINGFEEDBACKONTHEATTACHEDMATERIALS,YOUAGREETOTHESETERMS.

1.Forgoodandvaluableconsideration,thereceiptandsufficiencyofwhichareacknowledged,YouandMicrosoftagreeasfollows:

（a）IfYouareanauthorizedrepresentativeofthecorporationorotherentitydesignatedbelow（"Company"）,andsuchCompanyhasexecutedaMicrosoftCorporationNon-DisclosureAgreementthatisnotlimitedtoaspecificsubjectmatterorevent（"MicrosoftNDA"）,YourepresentthatYouhaveauthoritytoactonbehalfofCompanyandagreethattheConfidentialInformation,asdefinedintheMicrosoftNDA,issubjecttothetermsandconditionsoftheMicrosoftNDAandthatCompanywilltreattheConfidentialInformationaccordingly;

（b）IfYouareanindividual,andhaveexecutedaMicrosoftNDA,YouagreethattheConfidentialInformation,asdefinedintheMicrosoftNDA,issubjecttothetermsandconditionsoftheMicrosoftNDAandthatYouwilltreattheConfidentialInformationaccordingly;or

（c）IfaMicrosoftNDAhasnotbeenexecuted,You（ifYouareanindividual）,orCompany（ifYouareanauthorizedrepresentativeofCompany）,asapplicable,agrees:

（a）torefrainfromdisclosingordistributingtheConfidentialInformationtoanythirdpartyforfive（5）yearsfromthedateofdisclosureoftheConfidentialInformationbyMicrosofttoCompany/You;（b）torefrainfromreproducingorsummarizingtheConfidentialInformation;and（c）totakereasonablesecurityprecautions,atleastasgreatastheprecautionsittakestoprotectitsownconfidentialinformation,butnolessthanreasonablecare,tokeepconfidentialtheConfidentialInformation.You/Company,however,maydiscloseConfidentialInformationinaccordancewithajudicialorothergovernmentalorder,providedYou/Companyeither（i）givesMicrosoftreasonablenoticepriortosuchdisclosureandtoallowMicrosoftareasonableopportunitytoseekaprotectiveorderorequivalent,or（ii）obtainswrittenassurancefromtheapplicablejudicialorgovernmentalentitythatitwillaffordtheConfidentialInformationthehighestlevelofprotectionaffordedunderapplicablelaworregulation.ConfidentialInformationshallnotincludeanyinformation,howeverdesignated,that:

（i）isorsubsequentlybecomespubliclyavailablewithoutYour/Company’sbreachofanyobligationowedtoMicrosoft;（ii）becameknowntoYou/CompanypriortoMicrosoft’sdisclosureofsuchinformationtoYou/CompanypursuanttothetermsofthisAgreement;（iii）becameknowntoYou/CompanyfromasourceotherthanMicrosoftotherthanbythebreachofanobligationofconfidentialityowedtoMicrosoft;or（iv）isindependentlydevelopedbyYou/Company.Forpurposesofthisparagraph,"ConfidentialInformation"meansnonpublicinformationthatMicrosoftdesignatesasbeingconfidentialorwhich,underthecircumstancessurroundingdisclosureoughttobetreatedasconfidentialbyRecipient."ConfidentialInformation"includes,withoutlimitation,informationintangibleorintangibleformrelatingtoand/orincludingreleasedorunreleasedMicrosoftsoftwareorhardwareproducts,themarketingorpromotionofanyMicrosoftproduct,Microsoft'sbusinesspoliciesorpractices,andinformationreceivedfromothersthatMicrosoftisobligatedtotreatasconfidential.

2.YoumayreviewtheseMaterialsonly（a）asareferencetoassistYouinplanninganddesigningYourproduct,serviceortechnology（"Product"）tointerfacewithaMicrosoftProductasdescribedintheseMaterials;and（b）toprovidefeedbackontheseMaterialstoMicrosoft.AllotherrightsareretainedbyMicrosoft;thisagreementdoesnotgiveYourightsunderanyMicrosoftpatents.Youmaynot（i）duplicateanypartoftheseMaterials,（ii）removethisagreementoranynoticesfromtheseMaterials,or（iii）giveanypartoftheseMaterials,orassignorotherwiseprovideYourrightsunderthisagreement,toanyoneelse.

3.TheseMaterialsmaycontainpreliminaryinformationorinaccuracies,andmaynotcorrectlyrepresentanyassociatedMicrosoftProductascommerciallyreleased.AllMaterialsareprovidedentirely"ASIS."Totheextentpermittedbylaw,MICROSOFTMAKESNOWARRANTYOFANYKIND,DISCLAIMSALLEXPRESS,IMPLIEDANDSTATUTORYWARRANTIES,ANDASSUMESNOLIABILITYTOYOUFORANYDAMAGESOFANYTYPEINCONNECTIONWITHTHESEMATERIALSORANYINTELLECTUALPROPERTYINTHEM.

4.IfYouareanentityand（a）mergeintoanotherentityor（b）acontrollingownershipinterestinYouchanges,YourrighttousetheseMaterialsautomaticallyterminatesandYoumustdestroythem.

5.YouhavenoobligationtogiveMicrosoftanysuggestions,commentsorotherfeedback（"Feedback"）relatingtotheseMaterials.However,anyFeedbackyouvoluntarilyprovidemaybeusedinMicrosoftProductsandrelatedspecificationsorotherdocumentation（collectively,"MicrosoftOfferings"）whichinturnmayberelieduponbyotherthirdpartiestodeveloptheirownProducts.Accordingly,ifYoudogiveMicrosoftFeedbackonanyversionoftheseMaterialsortheMicrosoftOfferingstowhichtheyapply,Youagree:

（a）Microsoftmayfreelyuse,reproduce,license,distribute,andotherwisecommercializeYourFeedbackinanyMicrosoftOffering;（b）Youalsograntthirdparties,withoutcharge,onlythosepatentrightsnecessarytoenableotherProductstouseorinterfacewithanyspecificpartsofaMicrosoftProductthatincorporateYourFeedback;and（c）YouwillnotgiveMicrosoftanyFeedback（i）thatYouhavereasontobelieveissubjecttoanypatent,copyrightorotherintellectualpropertyclaimorrightofanythirdparty;or（ii）subjecttolicensetermswhichseektorequireanyMicrosoftOfferingincorporatingorderivedfromsuchFeedback,orotherMicrosoftintellectualproperty,tobelicensedtoorotherwisesharedwithanythirdparty.

6.MicrosofthasnoobligationtomaintainconfidentialityofanyMicrosoftOffering,butotherwisetheconfidentialityofYourFeedback,includingYouridentityasthesourceofsuchFeedback,isgovernedbyYourNDA.

7.ThisagreementisgovernedbythelawsoftheStateofWashington.AnydisputeinvolvingitmustbebroughtinthefederalorstatesuperiorcourtslocatedinKingCounty,Washington,andYouwaiveanydefensesallowingthedisputetobelitigatedelsewhere.Ifthereislitigation,thelosingpartymustpaytheotherparty’sreasonableattorneys’fees,costsandotherexpenses.Ifanypartofthisagreementisunenforceable,itwillbeconsideredmodifiedtotheextentnecessarytomakeitenforceable,andtheremaindershallcontinueineffect.ThisagreementistheentireagreementbetweenYouandMicrosoftconcerningtheseMaterials;itmaybechangedonlybyawrittendocumentsignedbybothYouandMicrosoft.

ThefollowinglabsdemonstratenewfeaturesoftheWindowsAutomatedInstallationKittools.TheselabsprovideapreviewofkeyfunctionswithineachtechnologyareaoftheWAIKtoprovideanunderstandingofnewWindows7deploymenttechnologies.

1.1LabOverview

setup,design,building,deployment,andservicing.TheprocessforbuildinganddeployingaWindows7installationislargelythesameasinWindowsVista®.TheprimarydifferenceisthereplacementofseveralWindowsVistacommand-linetoolswithonetoolcalledDISM.exe.

1.2Terminology

DeploymentImageServicingandManagement（DISM）-acommandlinetoolthatcanbeusedtoupdateaWindowsimageortoupdateaWindows PEimage.ItreplacesPackageManager（pkgmgr.exe）fromWindowsVista,andimprovesthescopeandexperienceforofflineservicing.
