JohnLogieBairdwillalwaysberememberedasthemanwhoinventedtelevision.

BairdwasbornonAugust14,1888.Duringtheearly1920s,JohnLogieBairdhadasmalllaboratoryintheseasidetownofHastings.Itwasinthatlaboratorythathefirstsucceededinprojectingamovingfigureacrossthewalls.

Unfortunately,duringalatereperimenthegotashoc.Notonlydidthisleavehimshaen,butitalsoblewoutthefuse(保险丝)bointheentirebuilding.TheownerofthehousehadbeensuspiciousofthestrangegoingsoninthecuriousScottishman’sapartmentandhewaspolitelyasedtoleave.AfterthathemovedtoadepartmentinSoho,Londonandcontinuedhiseperiments.

SuccessfinallysmiledonhimandonOctober25,1925hewasabletotransmithisfirstmovingimage.Thiswasthefirsttimethatanysuchsuccesshadbeenachieved.Unfortunately,hiseyesweretheonlyonestowitnessitatthetime.Hecalledhisnewinvention“thetelevisor”.OnJune16,1926heshowedhisfirstwortoanaudienceofinterestedwitnesses.Butnoneofthemimaginedjustwhatanimpacthisinventionwouldhaveonthemodernworld.

Overthefollowingyears,Bairdworedhardforfurtherimprovement.Hemanagedtotransmitimagesoverlongerdistances,achievingthefirsttransatlanticbroadcastin1928.Hebecamethepioneerofcolortelevision,too.Heshowedthefirsteperimentalcolortelevisionimagesasearlyas1928.By1930hehadmanagedtodevelopasystemforbroadcastingsimultaneous(同时发生的)soundalongwiththeimages.Televisionhadtrulybeenborn.Bairdcontinuedtomaemanyimportantcontributionstothedevelopmentoftelevision.In1944hepresentedthefirstcolortelevisionsettotheworld.
