  Narrativepoems:

Thistypeofpoetrytellsastory.Narrativepoemsareusuallylongpoems.Epics(史诗)andballadsfallunderthistype.SomeofthegreatestepicpoetsareJohnMilton,Dante,EdgarAllanPoe,AlexanderPope,WilliamShakespeare,etc.

  Dramaticpoems:

Anydramathatiswritteninverseisadramaticpoem.Thesepoemsgenerallytellastory.Blackverse,dramaticmonologuesandclosetdramabelongtothistype.WilliamShakespeare,ChristopherMarloweandBenJonsonaresomeofthegreatdramaticpoets.
