Abstract

JaneEyreisamasterpieceinthenineteenthcentury,whichincludeslifeexperiencesofCharlotteandlovestoryaboutJaneandRochesterbywhichwewouldbedeeplymoved.Inthemeantime,wewouldlearnalotfromthisnovelsuchaskeepingtheattitudeofalwayslookingatthebrightsideofthingsandnoblequalitiesthearticlementions.Allinall,thisnovelsuccessfullybuildsanimageofanewfemale,theimageofstrivingforfreedomandequalityofwomen,pursuitofindependenceforfemaleinthatperiodandstrugglingforloyallove.Therecentworldhaswitnessedtherapidchangesofpeople’sviewpointsonmarriage.Theynolongerhankerforeverlastinglovebutfastfoodromanticduetothefastdevelopmentofthesociety.Therefore,theobjectofthisresearchistotellthemarriedandunmarriedhowtheJaneEyre’sviewofmarriageshouldbeperceived.Itteachesusthatalthoughsheisnotbeautiful,shestillgainsthefruitfulloveduetohercharmofpersonality,suchasstrivingforfreedomandequality,themostimprotant,themutualunderstandingandrespect.That’stosay,onlyrespectforothers,buildtrustwithothers,canyoufindthetruelove,letaloneforthepeopleinthecontemporarysociety.

摘要

简爱是19世纪的一部小说,它讲述了简爱的生活经历以及与罗切斯特的爱情故事,我们都为之动容。

同时我们从小说中学到了好多,例如对生活的积极态度以及简爱的所表现的高尚的品质。

总而言之,这部小说成功建立了新女性形象,一种追求自由和平等的形象,追求女性独立,为追求真爱为努力。

在现代社会人们的婚姻观发生了巨大的变化,有人不再相信永久的爱,而追求短暂的快乐。

所以本文的目的在于阐明简爱的婚姻对未婚者和已婚者的启示。

简爱的故事教会了我尽管女主人公并不漂亮,她仍然得到自己的真爱。

她的人格魅力,勇于追求自由和平等,相互理解和尊重。

只有对别人尊重,信任别人,这样才能找到真爱,特别是对现代社会的人。

CharlotteBrontewasbornin1816atThornton,inYorkshire,England.Sheisrankedthirdamongsixchildren.In1824,shewassentwiththreesisterstotheClergyDaughters’SchoolatCowanBridgeinLancashire.Unfortunately,twoofhersistersdiedbecauseofpoorconditionsandtreatment,Charlottestillpersevered.Whenshewasalittlegirl,shewasveryinterestedinliteratureandshewrotemanyshortstoriesandpoemstoprepareforherliterarycareer.

Attheageoffifteen,shefurtheredherstudyatRoeHeadSchoolinMidfield.In1839,JaneleftRoeHeadSchoolandtookupherfirstjobasgoverness.Shesufferedmuchfromherjobwhichwasdespisedatthattime.

Aftergivingupheroccupationasagoverness,inordertomakealiving,CharlotteandhersistersdecidedtomakeatriptoBrusselstolearnFrenchwiththedreamofteachingFrench.DuringthetimewhenshewasapupilandlaterateacherinthePensionatHerger,agirl’sschool,shehadasoftspotforMrHerger,theownerofthisschool,whowashandsomeandintelligent.However,sheneverlethimknowhowshedeeplylovedhimandheneverknew.HerfirstnovelProfessor,basedonherownexprienceinherschooldidnotbringherfameandwealthandsheevencouldn’tfindapublisherinherlifetime.Aftertoilingawayforatime,shewroteanovelentitledJaneEyre,whichwasanimmediatesuccess.

Whatmostimpressesusisherattitudetowardslove,althoughshemethertruelover,amarriedman,sheputherlovedeeplyinherheartanddidn’tlethimknow.Herfinalunionwiththemanaftersomanyvicissitudeshasarousedourrespectforhersincerityandfidelity.

JaneEyreisregardedasoneofthemostimportantmasterpiecesinthehistoryofBritishliterature,whichadvocatesstrongfeminismofindependenceandfreedom.JaneEyreasanorphanhadlivedinthehouseofheruncle’swidowbeforeshewaseight.Butunfortunately,Janedidn’tliveahappylife,filledwithanxietiesandapathyinherchildhood,becauseheraunt’sfamilytreatedherbadlyandshefeltrebellious.Attheageofeight,Janewaspackedofftothecharitableboardingschool,whichwasknownforharshdisciplineandtoughenvironment.Duringtheschooldays,inordertorealizeherdreamofbeingaqualifiedteacher,Janedidn’tslackenoffhereffortstostudywellandshewashappyindeedbecauseshemetHelenwhowasconsideredasherbestfriendsinceherchildhood.Duetothearduoussituationintheboardingschool,shedecidedtoleaveandsucceededinbecomingagovernessofaso-calleddaughterofRochesterinhiscountryThornfieldHallafteradvertisingforapost.Merrywerethesedaysthere

andbusytoo,dramatically,bothJaneandhermasterRochesterhadasoftspotforeachotherandtheyfellinlove.Unexpectedly,whenJanegotthetruththatRochesterhadalegalwife,insteadofdeceivingherself,sheleftThornfieldandherbelovedonewithoutsayingaword.Shedidn’tknowwhereshewouldgobuthadnearlystarvedtodeathandsufferedalotfromexhaustion.Meanwhile,JanewasrescuedbyRiver’sfamilyontheedgeofdeath,inherlaterdaysshehappenedtoreceiveasumofheritagefromherrelatives.AfterrejectingtheproposeofhercousinJohn,JanecamebacktoThornfieldatthecallofRochesterinherheartandamazinglyfoundthatthehousehadburntdownandRochesterhadnothingleftwithhimselfbutapairofblindedeyesandmaimedbody.Withouthesitation,Janemadeuphermindtostaytotakecareofhimbecauseofhisbereavementandmoreoverherdeeploveforhim.Afterexperiecingthetwistsandturnsofherlifejourney,theygotmarriedintheendandlivedahappylifeforever.

Withoutdoubt,weknowthatJaneisaparentlessorphan,sinceheruncledied,sheistreatedunfairlyinheraunt’shouse,whatisworse,shesuffersfromlotsofinsultsandhumiliations,nooneunderstandsandhelpsher.Despitetheenvironment,unfairandcruellifecouldn’tdepriveheroflife-longhappiness,forshehasfoundhertruelovewhichisdestinedtobethefinalresultduringherlonglifejourney.Rochester,anupperclassgentlemanwhopossessesahighsocialstatusandagreatfortunefallsinlovewithJanewhohasnothingsimplybecausehewasdeeplymovedbyhersincerity,bravenessandkind-heartednessandtenacity,withoutconsideringherappearanceorwealth,status.Insteadofcaringaboutwhatshewaseducated,hermiserablechildhood,heregardsherchasteness,simplicity,optimismassomethingrareandpreciousandeveniswillingtomarryherwithwhomheshouldbelivingforinterdependence.Ontheotherhand,althoughthere’sagreatdisparityinagebetween,theytwosowtheseedofloveintheirheartsandthelovewasdeeplyengravedintheirminds.Althoughmanybizzarethingshappenedinhiscountrymansion,andevenRochesterrefrainsfromrevealingtoherthemysterythathehasgotmarried,shedoesn’tseemtocare,andsheindulgesinpassionatelovepermeatedwithimmeasurablehopeandpleasure,sheisconfidentthathewillbeamanofhertrueloveirrespectiveofotherinfluentialelements.TheirmutualrespectandunderstandingshowJane’sartlessandinnocentfaithfulloveforRochesterandhowsheisfondlyofhim.

Lifewillbeinsignificantwithoutpain.DuringthetimeJanewastrudgingallbyherselfonherwaythickwithdusttothepoorandremotevillage.Janenearlylosesherlifebecauseofhungerandcold.Fortunately,sheissavedbyapriestnamedJohnandhistwosistersontheedgeofherdeath.Inordertorewardthemfortheirhelp,shetakesaprofessionasanassistantofamissionaryandteachesintheprimaryschool.Meanwhile,John,whoislaterfoundtobehercounsin,proposestoherintheMoorHouse,butsherefusestheoffer,becausesheknowsthatshecannotforgetRochesterstilllovesher,butJohnisnotherbelovedonewhorefusestogiveherhappinessandconsolation.ShecherishesheraffectionforRochestersomuchthatsheloveshimmorethanherself.Forthesakeofthefaithfulloveshewouldrathergiveupallthatshehasandshethinksit’sworthwhiletodoso.Shenotonlyabandonedthepeaceandquietlifeandglory,whichshecouldeasilygetatthattime,justonlynottobetrayherownwill.
