1.教材分析
本单元以一篇侦探小说TheMysteryoftheMoonstone为话题，旨在通过本单元的教学，使学生学会如何正确地给别人提出建议或忠告；复习名词从句及复合宾语结构；复习正式书信格式和非正式书信格式，掌握两者之间的异同点；运用正确的格式书写书信。
1.1WARMINGUP部分提供了六幅图画，要求学生根据自己对每幅图画的分析和理解，用一两句话加以描述；然后按照图画的顺序进行合理想象，简单描述六幅图画中所反映的故事情节。
1.2LISTENING是发生在Rachel生日晚会上的几段对话。
1.3SPEAKING第一部分要求学生根据提供的情景，编写关于Godfrey向
Rachel求爱遭到拒绝的一段对话；第二部分要求讨论Rachel把theMoonstone放进衣柜抽屉里，第二天早上发现它不见了后故事中各个人物的反应。
1.4PRE-READIN（是对Reading的阅读前准备，要求学生通过回答问题进行交流，了解theMoonstone有关故事，并对以后的情节进行预测。
1.5READING是一篇侦探小说的故事梗概，围绕theMoonstone的来历、被盗、侦破展开叙述。
