BornonJune21st,1965inSuizhongCountyofLiaoningProvince,YangLiweihadahappychildhoodwithhisparents.Notonlywasheagoodstudentinschool,butalsohehadagiftformath.Hewonalotofmathcompetitionprizes.Aftergraduatingfromseniorschool.YangLiweicontinuedhisstudiesattheNo.8AviationCollegeoftheAirForceofthePeople’sLiberationArmy.HestudiedveryhardandgraduatedwithaBachelor’sdegree.Later,hebecameafighterpilot.
Severalyearslater,becauseofhisexcellentmanifestation(表现),YangLiweiwasamong14personschosenfrom1,500pilotsforastronauttraining.YangLiweididverywellandpassedastronauttestsin1996and1997.ThenhebecameoneofthethreeastronautsforChina’sfirstmannedspaceflight.Afteraseriesofhardtrainingsandtests,YangLiweibecameChina’sfirstastronautonOctober15th,2003atlast.
BeingthefirstChinesetotravelinspace,YangLiweiisaheroofournationinourheartandmind.HedevoteshimselftoChinesespaceprogram.WheneverwereviewthemomentswhenYangLiweiwastravelinginShenzhouⅤinspace,holdingournationalflaginhand,wewillbeproudofourcountryandthinkhighlyofYangLiwei.IbelievethatChinawillmakegreaterprogressinspaceflightinthefuture!
