Thepaperpresentsanapplicationofreassignedwaveletscalogramforrotorsystemfaultdiagnosis.Itisatopicofinteresttotheresearchersintherelatedareasbutthepaperneedsverysignificantimprovementbeforeacceptanceforpublication.Mydetailedcommentsareasfollows:

1.Thewaveletmethod（reassignedwaveletscalogram）usedinthepaperworksverywellfortheunderlyingfaultdiagnosisproblem.Ontheotherhand,thiswaveletmethodisa

well-establishedmethod,andthepresentresearchisadirectapplicationofthismethodwithoutnewcontributioninmethodologicalresearch.

2.Fortheabovereason,thepresentationshouldbefocusedontheresults.Unfortunately,thepresentationisfarfromacceptableforpublication.ThematerialwasnotproperlyorganizedanditisstronglysuggestedthattheauthorscheckcarefullytheEnglishwritinganduse

standardterminologiesinthetechnicalarea.

3.Thetitleofthepapershouldbemorespecificsincenumerousstudieshavebeendoneonthefaultdiagnosisofrotorsystemsusingwaveletsandtime-frequencymethods.Also,removetheword"research".

4.OnSection1:

·Thissectionlistedmanyreferencesthataremainlyrelatedtorotordynamicsandarenotdirectlyrelatedtorotorsystemdiagnosis.Iftheauthorswouldliketokeepthesereferences,somediscussionsontherelevanceoftheserefstothepresentresearchareneeded.

·ReviewonthedirectlyrelevantrefswillbemorehelpfulForthereader.Also,time-frequencyandwaveletsaremainlyfornon-stationaryandtransientanalysis.Theauthormaydiscussinmoredetailwhattypesoftransientsandnon-stationarycomponentswouldappearinrotorsystemvibration.

5.OnSection2:

·Sincethemajormethodusedintheapplicationisreassignedwaveletscalogram,itisnotneededtogivethedetailsofthreeothermethods（onlygiveafewwordsandgivetherefs）.Instead,theauthorsmaydiscussmoreontherelationshipbetweentraditionalwaveletscalogramandthereassignedwaveletscalogram,andexplainwhythelatterisbetterthantheformer.

time-frequencyplanesarealsoveryinteresting.However,theobservationsshouldbedescribedconcisely,andtheauthorsshouldfocusmoreon:

1）whetherthesephenomenaaregeneralcharacteristics,and2）ifpossible,explainthereasonofthephenomenaandtheadvantagesofreassignedwaveletscalogramoverothertime-frequencymethods.
