1.Introduction
IhaverecentlyreadAndersenFairyTales,whichinspiringformylifegreatly.AndersenFairyTaleshavebroughtmeintoaworldthatwasfullofkindnessandlove.Andersenfairytalesisaworldofliterarymasterpiece,wemustworkhardtoreadit.
1.1TheBackground
ThisnovelwaswrittenbytheDanishwriter,Hans Christian Andersen.Poorfamilybackgroundinhischildhoodandnoopportunitiestolearnmadehimkeenlyfeelthattherewasnobodywhowasinwantofreadingmorethanpoorchildren.InordertostriveforthenextgenerationAndersenmadeuphismindtowritefairytalesforkids,andpublishedhisbooknamedTheStoryToldtoTheChildren.Thereweretotal168fairytaleswrittenbyAnderseninhisnearly40years.Andersen’srepresentive works contained--- The Little Mermaid, The Little Match Girl, The Snow Queen,The Red Shoes, The Brave Tin Soldier and many others.Thereareacollectionoftaleswhichappealtoallmindsalike.Theyaretoldwithskill,andpossessacharmwhich carries on the reader.Hewassopopularthathisworkshadbeentranslatedintoseverallanguagesandwelcomedbyreadersallovertheworld.

Thegistofthebookistopraisethetruth,goodnessandbeautyinourlife.

Hisfairytalescanbedividedintothreeperiods.
2.1TheNightingale
Inthefirstperiod,Itwasfullofbeautifulfantasy,optimisticspirit,andembodiedthecharacteristicsofrealismandromanticismcombination.SuchasTheNightingale.
TheNightingaleistheworkofthisperiod.”I’llsingaboutthosewhoaregayandthosewhoaresorrowful.Mysongswilltellyouofallthegoodandevilthatyoudonotsee.”[TheNightingale(p7-p8)]
ThenightingalewonthepraiseofscholarsintheworldandwontheChineseemperor’stearsbyitswonderfulvoice,.Attheemperordeathbedonceagaincametotheemperor'sside,thenightingalesangforhim,savedtheemperor.Afterreadingthestory,Ifoundthelittlegirl'ssincereandbraveonourside,butthenightingale'sbehavioralsoletmefeelthewarmthandkindness.Infact,theemperorwasnotsohateful,finallyhefollowedthelittlegirltothefield,tounderstandthepeopleoftruelife.Inmyopinion,Ithinkit’sameaningfultale.Thisfairytalerevealedthefolly,,ignoranceanddecayoftherulingclass.Thenightingalemakesmeunderstandatruth:
nomatterwhatyoudo,loveshouldstandinthepositionofotherstoconsidertheproblem,youcan'tjustbehappyforyourselfregardlessofothers.Thereisalove,torealizethetruehappiness,theworldwillbemorebeautiful!
2.2TheStoryofaMother
Inthesecondperiod,Fantasyelementsrelativelyweakened,butrealitycomponentrelativelyaugmented.Inlashingugly,singthepraisesofgoodness,itshowdthepersistentpersuitofgoodlifeandalsorevealedalackofconfidenceinthemelancholymood.SuchasTheStoryofaMother.
“Oh,whatwouldInotgiveformychild,”saidthecryingmother.[TheStoryofaMother.(p111)]Thethemothershriekedinterror,”Whichwasmychild?

Inthisstory,themotherinordertosavehersonfromDeath.Shetriedherbesttodothehardwork:
usedherchesttowarmfreezethorns;usedherbeautifuleyestoexchangethelake'shelp,usedherbeautifulhairtoexchangethetombguard'shelp.Buteventuallythechilddidnotsurvive.Lowtone,sadandhelplessofthemothermadepeoplefeelsad.Afterreadingthisstory,Ifellgreatmaternallove.TheStoryofaMothermakesmeunderstandatruth:
Everymothercansacrificeeverythingforherchildren.Maternalloveisnotinreturn.

Inthethirdperiod,Thefairytaleinthisperiodwasmorerealthansecondperiod,itfocusedondescriptingthetragicfateofthebottomofpeople'ssociallife,revealingthecold,darkandunevenofthesociallife.Thetoneoftheworkwaslow.SuchasTheNightcapofthe“Pebersvend”.
“God’swillisbest,”hewouldthensay.”ItwasgoodthatourLorddidnotlettheheartofMollyclingtome,forhowwouldithaveended,nowthatfortunehasturnedagainstme?
Shegavemeupbeforesheknewofthismisfortune.OurLordhasbeenmercifultowardme;allhasbeenforthebest,allthingsareorderedwisely.Andshecouldnothelpherself;itwaswrongofmetofeelsobitterandangry!

Antondidnotleavehisbedfortwodays,becausehedidnothavethestrength.Thecoldweatherhasfrozehim.Overhisthingsnotfever,notadisease,butasmallspider,buthecould'tseeit.Noonetookcareofhim,becausehisbosshadhiredhimasaclerkwasnotallowedtomarryhim.Theconditionofthisstorywasactuallymadeofoldsocietyaastrongaccusation--althoughitstoneissolow.Themoredeephedescribedinhislife,themoredepressinghefelt.Manycontradictionshaveappearedinhiswriting,thatkindofgoodwishesforlife,thetruth,good,beautyofthepursuit,thenHefeltitwasakindoffantasyatthisperiod.
3.Conclusion
AfterreadingAndersenFairyTales,Iwasdeeplyattractedbythesewonderfulstoriesinthisbook.Thisbookhasauniqueartisticstyle,thatis,poeticbeautyandcomedyhumor.Thisbookissuitableforpeopleofallagestoread,isagoodbook.Everyonecanlearnsomeknowledge,knowsometruths,soIrecommendallofyoureadthisbook.
