Abstract:

Background:

TheEatingHabitoftheTeen

Healthyeatingisveryimportantforteenage.Duringpuberty,ourbodycompositionchanges.Adequatenutritionwillensureouremotionalandphysicalhealth.Ontheotherhand,badeatinghabitwillharmtoourbody,forexample,skippingbreakfast,irregularmealandsoon.Iftheteenageaffectedbythebadhabit,theymighthavechronicillnessinthefuture,includingcancerobesityanddiabetes.Asateenagewehavemorechoicestodecidewhatweeatandwhatwewanttoeat.Weneedeatavarietyoffoodsthatgiveournutrientswegrowingbodyneeds.Butsometimeweareconstantlyobsessingabouteatinghabitlikewhichfoodhavemorenutrition.Soweshouldknowhowtoarrangeoureatinghabittoavoidhealthproblem.

Sports

Also,sportandphysicalactivityisbenefitforthehealth.Toimproveteenagersmental,physicalactivityhaslongbeenusedasatool.Thesportsglobalizationistheculturalglobalizationimportantcomponent,is

theinternationalsportsdevelopmentinevitabletrend.Inthisprocess,thewesternizationbecomesnowthesportsglobalizationkeycharacter.But,inChinamostteenagersaredon’thaveenoughtimeforsport.Maybetheydothemostsportactivitiesduringatschool.Somestudentsalsothinkstudyisthemostessentialthinginthestageofstudying.Theyprefertospendtimeforstudythantodosomephysicalexercisesforrelaxation.

 

Thelifestyle

Theproblemofteenagers’health,suchas,smoking,drinking,web-addiction,thepoorphysiquealwaysisthetopicwhichispaidcloseattentionbythesociety.Inrecentyears,thereexistsdouble-humpedphenomenonontheteenagers’physiqueandnutritionproblems,inotherwords,bothmalnutritionandoverweightproblemeachhasalargenumberofteenagerssufferingfrom.Accordingtotheexperts’statement,thereasonwhyteenagershavethisproblemisthattheyarelackexercisingorhaveworselifestyle.

 

Thepsychologicalproblems

Psychologicalproblemsofteenageralreadybecameoneoftheessentialproblemswhichaffectthehealthofteenagers.Lastyear,WHO(theWorldHealthOrganization)announcethatthemainreason,whichcausethesuicideofteenager,isthattheteenagersisafraidofparents’blamesandpunishments;19%ofteenagerssuicideforthisreason.18%ofteenagerskilledthemselvesbyreasonofpsychologicalproblems.Recently,someexperimentsshowthatinChina,10.9%ofteenagerswanttosuicide;16%ofthemhavesomepsychologicalproblems;4%ofthemhavealreadypreparedtosuicide.(Reference:

)Allofthesedataindicatepsychologicalproblemsofteenagerscannotbeneglected.Today,wefocusonthepsychologicalproblemseffectstothehealthofteenagersinChangsha.

 

AimsandObjectives:

1.ToidentifytheteenhealthystatusinChangsha

2.TodescribestateofeatinghabitinChangsha’steen,andtrytoimprovethissituation.

3.Toexaminehowmuchtimedotheteenagersplaythecomputergameeveryday.

4.Tofindoutwhatisthehealthylifestyle.Toidentifythemaintypesofteenagers’psychologicalproblemsinChangsha.

5.ToexaminethepercentageofteenagerswhohavetakenapsychologicalcureinChangsha.

6.ToexaminethelargestpressureofteenagersfromthedailylifeinChangsha.

Methodology:

Setting:

OurquestionnaireswerehandedoutinthreedifferentplacesinChangsha.Thefirstisthefastfoodrestaurants,forexample,theKFCandtheMcDonald’s;becauseitisverypopularamongteenagerstospendfreetimetherewithfriendsonweekendsinChangsha.Mostpeopleprefertoanswerthequestionnairewhiletheyarewaitingfortheirmeal.ThesecondplacewechoseistheHuangxingwalkingstreet,owingtolargeconcentrationsofpeople.WechosethecampusoftheNCUKinChangshaasthelastplace;almostallthestudentsareteenagers,anditisconvenienttocounttheresultofourquestionnaires.

Participants:

Inourresearch,basedontheteacher’ssuggestions,wehandout50questionnairesto50teenagers.The50questionnairescanhelpuslearnmoreaboutteenager’shealthproblems.Inordertoourresearchcoverseveryaspect.Ourresearchinvolved50teenagerswhoseagefrom13to19.

Materials:

Ourtopicisabouthealthofteenagers’problems.Thequestionnairesinclude4aspects.AsLife-style,eatinghabits,sportsandpsychology.Afterdiscussion,wesearchedtheinternetandhandoutquestionnaires.Weusedmultiple-optional,open-question,andyesornoquestionsthenwewantthisquestionnairecanreflecttheproblemsinsociety.

Procedure:

Afterfinishingtheproposal,mygroupputhandtoprepareforthequestionnaire.Inouropinion,knowingsomethingaboutourtopiccangivemeahandtofinishthequestionnaire.Therefore,wesearchedtheinternetatfirst.Then,wehadadiscussiontofindoutwhatquestionshouldbeputintoquestionnaireandwhattypesofquestionshouldhave.Ofcourse,teachergaveuslotsofadviceaboutit.Asaresultofourdiligentwork,thequestionnairewasfinishedeventually.Takingaccountofthelimitedtime,wechoseschooltohandoutthe50questionnaires.

 

Findings:

1.Thefirstobjectiveisaboutthemaininformationofhealthylifestyle.Forexample,inourquestionnaire28girlsand11boystheychoiceyes.And4girlsand4boystheychoiceno.Mostpeopletheythinktheyhavehealthylifestyle,butasmallnumberofpeopletheythinktheyhavesomeproblemsinlife.Thatiswhywemakethisquestionnaire,wewanttoknowthewhatkindofproblemsexisthere.

2.Thisobjectislinkingtothehowoftendoyoudothephysicalexercisesonyourfreetime.Wefindthatsomeofgirlsdoingexercisenotveryoften,whichmeansmostgirlsdon’tlikedophysicalexerciseinfreetime.Ontheotherside,thereareafewgirlsdothephysicalexerciseonceaweekatleast.Howeverintheothergroupmostofboysdosporteveryday.

3.ThisquestionistofindthefactorwhichaffectsthehealthconditionofpeoplethemostinChangsha.Thetableshowsthat32%participatorschosethelivingcondition,48%participatorschosetheeatinghabits,10%participatorschosethestudyingpressure,8%participatorschosethephysicalexercisesand2%participatorschosetheothers.Approximateonehalfofteenagersbelievethathavingagoodeatinghabitisthekeyfactor.

4.Thequestionistoresearchthepeopledotheteenagersprefertopourouttheirtroubles,duetothepsychologicaldifferencebetweenboysandgirls;wedividethisresultintotwopartsdependingonthegenders.Morethanonehalfofgirlswouldliketotellsomethingtotheirfriendswhentheyhaveabadmood,someofthemwillcommunicatewithparentsorothers,alotofthemdealwiththetroublebytheirselves,butnoneofthemaregoingtotalkwithteachers.Ontheotherhand,aboutonehalfoftheboysprefertohandletheproblembytheirselvesortohidethebadmooddeeplyintheirhearts,andnoneofthemchoosetotalkwiththeirparents.

5.Lackoftimetosleepingisthemainproblemtoteenagerswithpoorphysiquecondition.Asthechartshows,thepercentageofmorethan8hoursisonly12%.Moreover,thispercentevenlessthanthepercentageoflessthan6hours.Thepercentageof6-8hoursis3timesthanlessthan6hoursone.However,thegeneralsleepingtimeofteenagersis9hours,notenoughtimetosleepingwillresultinlackofattentionindaytime.

6.Theobjectiveistolearnthehealthstatusofeatinghabitofteenagers.Wearrangethisquestioninordertoletteenagerslearnabouttheirselves.Theycanknowwhatkindofproblemtheyhaveineatinghabit.atthesametime.Wegetinformationaboutteenagereatinghabitssothatwecanthingupmorereasonablerecommendations.

7.Nowadays,manyteenagershavealotofpoorbehaviors;welistsomeofit,suchassmoking,intemperance,stayingupandwed-addiction.Accordingtothetable,thenumberofpeoplewhohasthehabitsofstayingupissomany,approximatelytakingup50%,especiallyamongthegirls.Smokingandweb-addictiontakeanaboutequalshare,both20percent.Theleastoneistheintemperance,only3%.

8.Thisquestionistoinvestigatetheabnormalpsychologicalsituation.Abouttwofifthsoftheteenagersaremoody,aboutonefourthsoftheteenagersareirritable,nearlytwofifthsoftheparticipatorsarehyper-attractive.Onefifthsofteenagersarelackofconfidence.

9.Theopenmindquestioncangiveoursameoriginalideasabouthowtoimproveourhealth.Wealsotrytoremindteenagerofmakingplantomendtheirhealthstatus.

 

Conclusions:

ThecurrentsituationofthehealthofteenageinChangsha

Throughtheinvestigation,wecanknowmoreaboutthestatusoftheeatinghabitofteenager.Nowadays,Teenagestillhavenoconsciousnessabouttheirhealth.

Thecommonproblemsincludetheskippingthebreakfast,eatingdisorder.Thecausetheskippingbreakfastreasonisthatsometeenagersfeeleatinghabitisamatterthing.Sameteenagersgetuplately.Sotheymightskippingbreakfast.Eatinghabitappearsthatsometeenagersonlyeatmeatfoodandvegetables.Recommendation

Breakfastismostimportantmealoftheday.Wesuggestteenagerseathealthyfoodinmorning.Likemilk,fruit,grain.Getintothehabitofeatingbreakfast.Makingascheduleavoidgettinguplately.Parentsplayabigroleinshapingchildren'seatinghabits.Parentcanarrangechildren’breakfastandsitwiththeirchildrenenjoythehealthybreakfast.

ToimprovetheeatingdisorderproblemswesuggestteenagerarrangertheirmealaccordingtoTheFoodGuidePyramid.
