Inthislesson,thebladeisregardedasaSolidregion,whiletheregionsurroundingthebladeisregardedastheFluidregion.UsingBlockSplittingat“Prescribedpoint”,theuserwillgenerateaHexahedralMeshforbothoftheregions,sothatthetopologyofthesolidregionisadegenerate‘Hexahedral’mesh.

Pressthemiddlemousebuttontoaccepttheselection,andpressApplyandtheBodynameFLUIDshouldappearwithinthegeometry(midwaybetweentheselectedlocations).RotatethemodeltoconfirmthatFLUIDisinanappropriatelocation.
NowenterSOLIDasthenewPartNameintheCreateBodywindow.
Pressthelocationselectionicon
andselecttwolocationsonthebladesurfacessothatthemidpointwillbeinsideoftheblade. Pressthemiddlemousebuttontoaccept,andpressApply. AfteracceptingthisPartsassignment,dynamicallyrotatethemodeltoconfirmthatSOLIDisinsidetheblade.
Whenthisiscomplete,allcomponentsoftheGeometryshouldnowhavepartnameassignments.
DeleteanyEmptyParts:
FromtheDisplayTree,rightmouseselectonParts>DeleteemptyParts.
File>SaveProjectAstosavetheupdatedmodelbeforecontinuingoninthistutorial. Givetheprojectanynameyouwant.

Forclarityintheseoperations,rightmouseclickintheDisplaytreeonBlocking>IndexControl. ChangetheIndexcontrolforthe‘I’dimensionsothattheMinis2andtheMaxis3. TurnOFFthePointsfromtheDisplaywindow.Therestrictedtopologyconsistsoffourblocks,wherethetwocenterblocksbelongtotheblade.
Beforecollapsingtheblocks,changethePartfamilyofthetwocenterblockstoSOLID,thematerialrepresentingtheblade.
RightmouseclickonSOLID>AddtopartunderneathPartsintheDisplayTree,anditwillopentheAddtoPartwindow. SelectBlockingMaterial,AddBlockstoPart
,andselecttheblocksofthebladeasshownbelow,thenpressthemiddlemousebuttontocompletetheoperation.
Choosetheedgethatshouldbecollapsed. Inthiscaseitistheshortestedgeoftheselectedblocks. Selectthetwoblocksshowninthefigurebelow.PressApplytoCollapsetheblocks.
