however,nobodyhasevermadeoutwhattheword“love”reallyconnotes,noteventhemostfamouspeoplesuchasgreatpoliticians,saintsandphilosopherscanclarifythemeaningof“love”,neithercantheydealwiththevariousaffairsconcerninglove.loveislikeahugeboundlessnetthatshroudsusallin.wecanneitherbreakawayfromitnorescapefromit.likeitornot,wearealwaysentangledinit.itisaninvisiblenetwithoutanyform,thatshroudsindifferentpeoplefromdifferentangels;itisamercilessnetthatupsetsusoreventorturesustodeath.itisalsoasupremenetwhichalmostnohumancansurpass.eveniftheyareheroes,emperors,wisemenorsaints,theycandonothingbutshowtheirhelplessnessinitsface.thosewhocanbreathethroughtheholesofthenetshouldberegardedbeyondcommonnessandvulgarity.lovecanbringustemporarycomfortandhappiness,butmostlytheybringaboutannoyanceandsufferings.maybethisisthereasonwhymanypeoplehaveseenthroughtheillusionsofthemortalworld.howeveritisnotsoeasytobreakawayfromthisboundless,ever-existingandindifferentnetoflove.
loveisvariedandchangeable,butroughlyitcanbedividedintothreecategories:
familylove,fraternalloveandamatorylove.notlikemonkeykingwhojumpedoutoftherocks,wewereallbornaftermother'spregnancyofaboutninemonths,hencewehavecountlessrelativeswithoutanychoice:
parents,grand-parents,andgrand-parents-in-law,unclesandaunties,brothersandsisters,etc.andoncelookingatthegenealogicaltree,we'llseenoend.familyloveiswhateveryonelongsfor,butthewarmthandsupportfromourbelovedonesarewhateveryoneyearnsforthemost.buthowmanyofusaredeterminedtocontributetoourbelovedone?

noloveamongrelativeshasbecomeanormalphenomenonwhichneedn'ttobefussedabout.what'sworseiswhenloveiscontaminatedbymoney.soonerorlaterwewillgethurt.thesoonerwegetoutofthisnetoflove,themorewecanpreservebeautifulmemories.
wearenotlivinginvacuum,andthesocietyisformedofvariouskindsofpeople.aslongaswewanttolive,study,orwork,wehavetocontact,communicateandcooperatewithothers.thosewhoenjoycommoninterests,mutualunderstanding,commonundertakingsandcommonbenefitsbecomefriends.
somefriendsarecalledfair-weatherfriends,becausetheyaretogetherjustforentertainingthemselvesbyeating,drinking,andgossiping.oncethere'snothingtoeatanddrink,theirfriendshipisfinished.somearespiritualfriendswhosharecommonambitions,pursuitsandeducation.“theyenjoytalkingandlaughingwiththegreattalentsandnevermakefriendswiththegood-for-nothings”.thebestexampleswouldbeyuboyaandzhongziqioftheancienttimeswhoarefamousnotonlyfortheirloftymusicbutmainlyfortheirloftycharactersandmutualunderstandingandappreciation.theycaredverylittleaboutmaterialwealth,sotheirfriendshipisknownas“gentlemen'sfriendshipaspureaswater”.thethirdtypeoffriendshipbelongtothosewhoshowtheirutterdevotiontoeachother.theyarereadynotonlytosharewealandwoebutalsotodieforeachother,likethethreebrothersliu,guanandzhanginthenovelromanceofthethreekingdoms..weallwishtohavethiskindoffriendship,butit'sofgreatdifficultyfortheordinarypeopletobeasdevotedastheywere.
