Firstly,authorwillanalyzetheregisterofthetext,andthendiscussthreesignificantfeaturesofthetextindifferentaspectswhichrelatedtotheregister.

1.Register

Toanalyzetheregister,itisnecessarytoknowthedefinitionofregister.HereisthedescriptionfromWiki-pedia:

Inlinguistics,aregisterisavarietyofalanguageusedforaparticularpurposeorinaparticularsocialsetting.Forexample,whenspeakinginaformalsetting,anEnglishspeakermaybemorelikelytoadheremorecloselytoprescribedgrammar,pronouncewordsendingin-ingwithavelarnasalinsteadofanalveolarnasal(e.g."walking",not"walkin'"),choosemoreformalwords(e.g.fathervs.dad,childvs.kid,etc.),andrefrainfromusingcontractionssuchasain't,thanwhenspeakinginaninformalsetting.

Whenpeopleinventedsomething,theymustalsocreateawordtorepresentitinlanguage,soscientificwordsoccurredtheearliestintheregisterofscienceandtechnology.Themainfunctionofscientificwordsistoprovideinformationforreaders.Toagreatextentthisfunctionisrealizedthroughscientificwords.

Thesearenon-finiteverbs.Theyareduetoindicateprocessintheformofactiveorpassivevoice.

3.Conclusion

Withcarefulanalysis,wecouldaffirmthattheregisterofthistextisScienceandTechnology.Indetail,wealsosummarizethreefeaturesfromthetexttoprovethethesisinthisessay:

Relationalization,participialphrasesandparticularlexicalfunction.Allofthemarefeaturesofcertainregister.WhilethistextisnotthetypicalregisterofScienceandTechnologywhichisbetweenspecialistsonresearch.Itshouldbelongtosuchkindofpopularscientificreading.Bethatasitmay,thetextstillhasalotofobviousfeaturesofScienceandTechnologyregister.
