Foxcameontotheiceandbowed.Everyonecheered.ThenFoxbegantoskate.Foxskatedforwardsandbackwardsandsideways.Sheskatedinperfectcirclesandfiguresofeight.Shewaselegantandamazing!

Walruswatchedandhelovedwhathesaw.Foxmadeitalllooksoeasy.WalruswassurethatifhereallytriedhecouldskatejustlikeFox.Hecouldn’tstophimself.HejusthadtoleapontotheiceandjoininwithFox.“Icanskate,”hecried.“Lookatme!

”ButWalruscouldn’tskateatall.Hecouldonlytripupandfallover.HebumpedintoFox,andFoxwentflatonherface.FLOMP!

Foxwasveryupset.“WalrushasRUINEDmyact,”shewailed.Next,itwasPolarBear’sturn.Herolledoutacrosstheicelikeabig,whitesnowball.Everyoneclappedwildly.ThenPolarBearbegantotumble.Hedidjumpsandspinsandsomersaults,andstoodonhishead.Walruswatchedandhelovedwhathesaw.PolarBearmadeitalllooksuchfun.Walruswassurethatthistime,ifhereallytried,hecouldtumblejustlikePolarBear.Allofasudden,Walrusjustcouldn’tstophimself,andheleapedontotheice.“Icantumbletoo,”hecried.“Lookatme!

”Whalewasprettyscarywhenhewasangry.Walrusturnedtailandfled.Hehidbehindasnowdrift,feelingsadandverysorry.
