NewOrientalEducation&TechnologyGroupInc.,viz.New

theNewYorkStockExchangein2006,whichisaproviderof

privateeducationalservicesinChina.TheheadquartersofNewOrientalislocatedintheHaidiandistrictofBeijing.ItiscurrentlythelargestcomprehensiveeducationalcompanyinChina.

ThebusinessofNewOrientalincludespre-schooleducation,generalcoursesforstudentsofvariousagelevels,onlineeducation,overseasstudyconsulting,andtextbookpublishing.

Amongthefourmainbranchesnationwide,theGuangzhouNew

Orientalbranchoutclassestheotherthreeintermsofhumanresourcesandgeographicallocation,togetherwiththeunique

CoolCampDepartmentofWinterandSummerCamp.

4.TheGapbetweentheExperieneeandmyExpectations

Asisnotedinthepreviousparagraphs,myworkwasroughlydividedintothethreedimensionsabove:

recruitment,training,compiling.

Chronologicallyspeaking,theinitialtaskofmyworkwasto

establishrecruitmentactivitiesinourschool.Themost

conspicuousgapbetweenrealityandexpectationconsistedintheinterfereneeoftheforcemajeure.Tobemorespecific,inthe

processofthepublicizingtheevent,thepostersandflyers

failedtoefficientlyreachthetargetaudieneenamelythegirlsintheSchoolofForeignLanguagesduetothefactthattheposterswerealwayscoveredbyothercoloredandvariedpostersorbannersofotheractivities.Further,thesecondcaseoftheforcemajeurewasthetimearrangement.Unfortunately,between

thefirst-stagepreparationandthedayoftheevent,ashort

breakofQingmingFestivalinterruptedtheproceedingsofthe

propagation,therebydilutingthestrengthandeffectsofthe

popularization.

Whatfollowedtherecruitmentwasthetrainingandnurturingof

thenewteachersandassistants.Countertothereceivedideas

thatthegirlsatforeignIanguagedepartmentaretalkativeandhaveagoodcommandofEnglish,therealityis,theproficiencyofEnglish,theirpersonalpreferences,andthepresentation

skillsandstyle,allvariedsignificantlyfromeachindividualtoindividual,whichwasindeedaheadacheformetodeviseareasonableandappropriatetrainingscheme.

Ultimately,alsothemostpainstakingly,enormousamountof

ordealanddifficultiespresentedthemselvesasIplungedinto

thecompilationofthenewtextbooks.Asisthecasewiththemajorityofintellectuals,asolidcollectionofpublished

materialsthatcarrytheirnamesarethesymboloftheirprideandknowledge,thepassporttothepantheonofacademicleaders.

Thisfirmlyrootedbeliefplusmyzealforacademicresearch,servedasthecatalystformycompilingthetextbookofEnglishreadingandvocabulary.

Nonetheless,onlyinpracticedidIcometothepainfulrealizationthatIwasfarfromacademicallyqualifiedto

fulfillthismission.Forexample,inrefereneetothedetailed

usageofsomekeywordsandphrases,therelevantsentencescontainingthesewordswerenecessitatedrespectivelyinseveral

registerssuchasspokenandwrittenregisters.Ifwedothemath,thenumberofsentencecollectioncouldreachmorethan1000sentences,whichisapparentlybeyondmycapability.

5.NewSkillsandInformationGained

Mymanagerialandcoachingskillsareremarkablyhonedbyheedingscrupulousattentionandfindingcreativewaystosettheplansintrain.

Whenitcomestothelaunchingoftherecruitment,Ididnfootinthisrecruitmentsectoruntilthistime.Beingtheleaderofthebigevent,Ididfeelinmybonesthatitwasnot

apieceofcaketoreachthecriticalmassofthisactivity,

thedesignofthesloganandbannerallhadbornemyscrutiny.Astothemoreconcretetasks,forinstanee,thespeechscript

members,Iwasabletoputmyselfintheirshoesandtherefore

betweenthepicturesandfonts.

Typically,thenewlyaddedhighlightsofthetrainingschemerevolvedaroundachievingtheIanguageclarityandbrevityviaanold-fashionedbuteffectivemethod-transcription.Whoeverhada

chaneetoperformhis/herlessonswerestrictlyrequiredto

recordtheentireclassandtranscribetheaudiointoscripts.Peculiarly,Idemandedallofthemshouldnotonlytranscribethemeaningfulwordsbutalsotheredundantwordyexpressionslikeah”，Oh”andevenwell”.Despitetheoccasionalcomplaints,themethodeventuallybecamethesilverbullet”totheredundancyofstatementsandthenewteacherswerethusenabledandempoweredtoexpresstheirideasmuchmorefluently.

Apartfromthelingualaspect,ahighdegreeofcreativityand

innovationwasexhibitedfromtheteachers'endeavorto

theirpresentation.GreatlyimpressedwasIatthesightofthe

innovativeinteractivegamesofwordpuzzles.Inaword,all

theseconstitutedthesourceofbrilliantpedagogicalideas.

6.DifficultiesEncountered

Asisstatedinthepreviousparagraphs,theindividual

differeneeofthenewteachingstaffposedgreatobstaclesformetocomeupwithasystematictrainingscheme.

Tobetteracceleratetheproductivityineducationaltasks,fourindividualsweregroupedtogetherwithaprominentmemberbeingthegroupleader.ThoughIdidcomprehensivelytakevariousfactorssuchasgender,age,proficiencyintoaccount,eachteamstillexhibitedgreatdiffereneerangingfromacademicleveltotheoutputofthetasks.Toencapsulate,itisneveraneasyjobtohandleandguideariotofmembers.

Likewise,tobetterillustratethedifficultiesencounteredin

theedition,theexhaustivesystemoftheacademicreserve

includes:

1.Phonetics;2.Collocation;3」dioms;4.DefinitionsfromauthoritativedictionarieslikeOxfordDictionaryand

7.MyShortcomings
