Theresearchersfoundthatlaptopuserstooktwiceasmanynotesasthosewhowrotebyhand.However,thetypistsperformedworseatrememberingandapplyingtheconcepts.Bothgroupsscoredsimilarlywhenitcametomemorizingfacts.
Theresearchers’reportsaid,“Whilemorenotesarebeneficial,ifthenotesaretakenmindlessly,asismorelikelythecaseonalaptop,thebenefitdisappears.”
Inanotherexperimentaimedattestinglong-termmemory,studentstooknotesasbeforebutweretestedaweekafterthelecture.Thistime,thestudentswhowrotenotesbyhandperformedsignificantlybetterontheexam.

Tocalculatejusthowmuchmotherswouldearnfromthatlabour,itsuggestedsomeoftherolesthatmumscouldtakeon,includinghousekeeper,part-timelawyer,personaltrainerandentertainer.Beingapart-timelawyer,at£48,98anhour,wouldprovetobethemostprofitableofthe“mumjobs”,withpsychologist(心理学家)aclosesecond.
