  Abstract

  Instructorsneedtoenhancetheirabilityofeducatingpeoplewithcultureinordertocultivateyounginnovativetalents,revolutionizeinstructors’workandachievelong-termprofessionaldevelopment.Culturaleducationconsistsofideologicalandpoliticaleducation.Italsoconsistswiththedutyofinstructors.Thismakespossibleinstructors’culturaleducation.Improvinginstructors’abilityofeducatingpeoplewithculturedependsonaclearunderstandingofitsconnotation,characteristicsandstructureaswellasonanexplorationofpracticalstrategiesintermsofhowtoinspirenewideas,nurturegoodqualitiesandsetupplatforms.

  INTRODUCTION

  Instructorsareinfaceofanewwaveofopportunitiesandchallengeswiththeimplementationof“large-scaleself-employmentandinnovation”strategyandtheincreasingimpactofuntraditionalmedia.Insuchacontext,thequestionofourtimeturnsouttobe:

inwhatwayshouldinstructorscultivatestudents?

Inessence,culturaleducationservesthesamefunctionwithideologicalandpoliticaleducation,whichrequiresinstructorstomakethebestuseofvariousculturalresourcesandenhancetheabilitytofosterstudents.Therefore,it’scruciallyimportantandquiteurgenttoanalyzethepossibilityandfeasibilityofinstructors’culturaleducationandfigureoutthedeepmeaningofandeffectivewaystoenhanceinstructors’relatedability.

  1.LOGICBEHINDINSTRUCTORS’ABILITYOFEDUCATINGPEOPLEWITHCULTURE

  Whatarethenecessitiesandpossibilitiesforinstructorstopracticeculturaleducation?

Theanswertothequestionisthekeytoimprovetheirabilityofeducatingpeoplewithculture.

  1.1Necessity

  1.1.1NecessarytoNurtureInnovativeTalents

  Intheeconomicnewnormal,anationalstrategywhichencouragesmassiveself-employmentandinnovationisputforwardtoboostthecountry’sdevelopment,especiallyemployment,withthesetwodrivingforceswhilemaintainingastableandhealthyeconomicgrowth.ThisaddsnewitemstotheagendaofuniversitiesinChina.Inhisaddressatthe100thanniversaryofTsinghuaUniversity,PresidentHuJintaopointedoutthatahighereducationwithbetterqualitycannotbeachievedwithoutpromotionofculturaltransmissionandinnovationorpracticeofculturaleducation.Universitiesareexpectedtoaggressivelydevelopculturalresourcesandfullyexplorehowtocultivatetopcreativeeliteswhilepromotingculturaltransmissionandinnovationtoensureitsuniquecontributiontoinnovationandself-employment.Asolidculturalfoundation,asetofgoodvaluesandahealthypersonalityarethesoilofcreativethinking.Withoutthem,it’sverylikelythatacreativemindwillbechockedbyutilitarianismandprejudices.Thus,tocultivatewell-educatedtalentswithinnovativespirit,universitiesmustpracticeculturaleducation.Moreover,culturaleducationisnecessarytofightagainstculturalinvasion.Valuesareatthecoreofacultureandculturesdistinguishfromeachotherwithdifferentvalues.Thekeytoresistinvasionofwesternculturesistoguidestudentsproperlyandbuildasafetynetwhichprotectsthemfromnegativeculturalimpact.ThenetismainlymadeofthesocialistculturewithChinesecharacteristics,especiallyuniversitycampuscultures.  1.1.2NecessarytoRevolutionizeInstructors’Work

  Rapiddevelopmentofmoderninformationtechnology,especiallythewideuseofmulti-media,newmediaandself-media,hasgreatlyextendedinstructors’work.Traditionalmeansofinstructionaredeclining.Thereareless“officehours”,“dormvisits”or“personaltalks”.Infact,thefrontlineofinstructionhasshiftedfromoffices,classroomsanddormitoriestothecyberspace.Offlineeducationisusuallycarriedoutthroughregulations,conversationsandargumentations.Onlineeducationalplatform,however,requiresnewformsofinstruction.Equalcommunicationbetweeninstructorsandstudentstakesplaceofinstructors-dominatedinfusionandpreaching.Instructorscannotexpecttoknowthefeelingandthinkingofstudentsunlesstheyareabletoinitiateequalandin-depthcommunicationwithstudentsafterestablishingattractiveplatformssuchasmicroblogandWechat.Instructorsmustlearntoremainattractiveenoughtokeepupwiththefast-changingonlineenvironmentandstudents’mindset.Therefore,theculturaltasteofinstructorsneedstobeliftedandemptyslogansinpreachingneedtobeabandonedsothatculturalresourceswillgraduallyinfluencestudentsandspreadgoodvalues.

  1.1.3NecessarytoProfessionalDevelopment

  Culturaleducationisurgentlyneededforinstructorstoenhancetheircompetence,identifyvalueoftheirworkandapproximateprofessionalism.Ontheonehand,culturaleducationisnecessarytorealizethevalueofinstructors’work.Atpresentinstructorsareinchargeofmostadministrativeaffairs,whichoftencausesthenegligenceofinstructors’importantroleineducation.Anincreasingnumberofinstructorsaredevelopingjobburnoutforwantofsocialrecognitionandself-recognition.Instructorsshouldbeencouragedtopracticeculturaleducation,giveideologicalandpoliticaleducationbyusingrichculturalresourcesandletgotraditionalinstructionandmanagementsuchasinfusionandpreaching.Onlybydoingsocantheyexpecttoreceivetherespecttheydeserveandhighlightthecontributionoftheirjob.Onlybydoingsocantheygainhappinessandsenseofachievementandfinallybetterachieveself-actualization.Ontheotherhand,culturaleducationisthebestchoicetodevelopprofessionalism.Withthegoalofeducation,thedutyofinstructorsistouseculturalresourcesasteachingcontentandmethodandexertinfluenceonstudents.Comparativelyspeaking,theabilityofeducatingpeoplewithcultureismorecomprehensiveandisintheleadingpositioninthesystemofaninstructors’ability.Betterhumanity,moralityandpersonalitypavethewayforinstructors’professionalism.  1.2Possibility

  1.2.1ConsistencybetweenCulturalEducationandIdeologicalandPoliticalEducation

  Culturaleducationisinterrelatedwithideologicalandpoliticaleducation.Ontheonehand,ideologicalandpoliticaleducation,withcultureworkingasavehicle,aimstonurturegoodvirtuesandhealthypersonalities.Infact,thisisaprocesswherepeopleareinfluencedandcultivatedbyacultureinaccordancewithideology,politicalideas,ethicsofcertainsocietyandclass.Theprocessisrealizedthroughtransmission,spreadandpracticeofcertainculturalheritage,whichrevealstherelationshipbetweencultureandideologicalandpoliticaleducation.Meanwhile,ideologicalandpoliticaleducationisaculturalphenomenon,whichreflectsthelawofitsdevelopmentandexplainsitsfunctionofculturaleducation.Ontheotherhand,culture,asaconceptwithrichcontent,consistsofdifferentfactorsamongwhichethicsisalwayssignificant.Socialculturalactivitiesandculturalproductsisthereflectionofideology,valuesandmoralityofcertainsocietyandclass.Thefactthatculturaleducationisconsistentwithideologicalandpoliticaleducationenablesinstructorstocultivatetalentswiththehelpofculturalresources.

  1.2.2ConsistencyBetweenFunctionsofCulturalEducationandIdeologicalandPoliticalEducation

  Thefunctionofculturaleducationandideologicalandpoliticaleducationishighlycongruent.Foronething,cultureentailsthecontentofideologicalandpoliticaleducation.ThecultureitselfcontainsinformationaboutIdeologicalandPoliticalEducation.“Culturaleducationisoneimportantwayofideologicalandpoliticaleducationsincecultureisthevehicleofthinking.”(Yuan,2002)Foranother,ideologicalandpoliticaleducationbearsamarkedbrandofculture.“Itisaprocessandanactivitythatcertainclassorgroupshapepeoplewithselectedvalues.Itconnectsandinteractswithculture.”(Zhao,2015).Thisprocessindeedisaprocesswhichspreadethicsandmorality.“TheChineseCommunistPartyattachesgreatimportancetocultureconstructionandcombinesitwithideologicalandpoliticaleducationofpartymembersandthemasses.”(Chen,2002).Instructors,asthemainactorofideologicalandpoliticaleducationofuniversitystudents,musttakeintoconsiderationthepoliticalandeducationalfunction.Instructorsareexpectedtogiveideologicalandpoliticaleducationwithmorehumantouchwhendealingwithquestionsorinquiriesconcerningvaluerationality.  1.2.3CorrespondencetoInstructors’Work

  Instructorsarethepillarsofideologicalandpoliticaleducationonuniversitystudents.Theirworkcoverseducation,managementandservice,witheducationatthecore.Culturaleducationcorrespondstotheresponsibilityofinstructors.That’swhyitishighlyemphasized.Foronething,instructorscanbasetheirworkonculturalresources.Becauseofsomehistoricrestrictions,instructorstendtoadopttheadministrativemodel,leavingdisciplininganimportantwayofinstruction.Astimegoesby,instructors’workbecomesmorecomplicated,requiringinstructorstomakethebestuseofculturalresourcesandaddmorearttotheirwork.Foranother,culturalcompetenceisoneofthequalificationsaninstructormusthave.Aninstructorisaneducator,amanagerandalighthouseforuniversitystudents.Inordertoincreaseefficiency,itwouldbebettertoliftinstructors’tasteforculture,satisfytheirspiritu
