TheTangshanEarthquakewasanaturaldisasterthatoccuredonWednesday,July28,1976.Itisbelievedtobethelargestearthquakeofthe20thcentury.Theepicenter（震中）oftheearthquakewasnearTangshan,anindustrialcitywithaboutonemillionpeople.Itbroughtaboutthedeathsofaround240,000to255,000.Afurther164,000peoplewereseverelyinjured.Theearthquake,7.8ontherichtermagnitudescale（里氏地震震级）,hitintheearlymorning,at03:
