TheAmericanyoungpeoplein1960’swereagenerationofrebellion.TheyfoundthattheaffluentAmericansocietywasfilledwithpoverty,injusticeandgypocrisy.Theydidn’ttrusttheadultworldthatdidn’tbelongtothemandrefusedtotaketheirbeliefsandvalues.Manyyoungpeopletookactivepartinthestrugglewhichprotestedagainstpoverty,racialdiscriminationandVietnamWar.Someyoungpeopleeventriedtooverthrowthisworldbyarmedrevolution.Manyotheryoungtookpassivewaystoshowtheirdisaffections.Theytookdrugs,refusedtotakeanyresponsibilitiesandlivedaparasiticwayoflife.Ortheyescapedtothefrontiersandlivedaprimitivewayoflife.
