Old,unwantedclothesareactuallyahugeburdenontheenvironment.Theyusuallyendupinlandfills,wheretheyrotawaywithoutanyuseforus,atthesametimepollutingtheenvironment.Cheap,throwawayclothesproduce10milliontonsoflandfillintheUSaloneeachyear.However,shredding（撕碎）them,wecouldcreatenewmaterials.Scientistsfirstlyremovedzippers,buttonsandotherhardpieces,thenshreddedthemessofclothesandthenaddedsomechemicalstobondthesefibrestogether.Thelaststepwasheatingandpressingthismaterialtoformsolidpanels.Theyarestrong,water-resistantandnoteasytocatchfire.Theirqualitycanbefurthertunedbyaddingsomeothermaterials,suchassawdust,oldfoam,paperandsoon.Differentmixturesresultindifferenttextures（质地）andcolours,someresemblingwood,ceramicsorstone.

Actually,shreddedmaterialscouldalsobeusedasaninsulatorforwallsofthebuildings,andtheycouldbecomefillingmaterialsfortoysorsomefurnitureaswell.Moreover,turningoldclothesintobuildingmaterialscouldbecomebusiness,whichwouldtakethisrecyclingpro
