1.OBJECTIVES

AnSKUsystemisintroducedthatsupportsbusinessmanagementto:

-Provideconvenienceforcustomertoorderspecificproducts

-InstructOEMsupplierstomanufacturespecificproducts

-ConnectwithERPtobuilddatabaseforproductpricingandcosting

2.DEFINITIONOFSKU

SKUconsistsofthreeparts:

-SKU1,5-characteruniqueidentifiertodescribeNewProductatdefaultstate（i.e.withoutcustomization）.ItisresponsiblebyProductMarketing

-SKU2,6-characteruniqueidentifiertodescribetangiblevisualcustomization（i.e.silkscreen,packagingdesign,accessories,etc.）,inwhichfirst4charactersaretreatedascustomercodeandlast2charactersaretreatedastherevisionofcustomizationundersamecustomercode.ItisresponsiblebyCustomerServices

-SKU3,9-characteruniqueidentifiertodescribefirmwareandconfigurationcustomization.ItisresponsiblebyTechnicalSupport.

-ThereadinessofafullSKUincludingSKU1,SKU2andSKU3ismaintainedbyProjectManagement.

AccompanyingwithSKU1,SKU2andSKU3,therearevariousitemsintheirpackagesrespectively.

-SKU1Package

oItiscreatedanddevelopedunderProductRealizationProcess（PRP）

oThereadinessofthepackageisverifiedbyProductMarketingbeforerelease

oInsideSKU1package,thefollowingitemsareincluded:

oThereadinessofthepackageisverifiedbyTechnicalSupportbeforerelease

oInsideSKU3package,thefollowingitemisincluded:

3.SKUSYSTEMOVERVIEW

TheoperationflowofthesystemisresponsiblebyProductMarketing,andperformedasbelow:

i.AfterPRP,aSKU1shallbecreatedanditspackageshallbemaintainedandcontrolledunderDocumentControlCentre（DCC）

ii.OnceSKU1readyinDCC,itshallbecreatedalsoinDeveloperSiteSystem（DSS）andERPsystemrespectively

iii.MeanwhileSKU1packageshallbereleasedthruDCCforOEMsuppliertodownloadifneeded

iv.IntheDeveloperSite,SKU2andSKU3shallbecreatedrespectivelyuponcustomerrequest,withreferencetotheavailableSKU1inthesite

v.OncecustomizedSKU2andSKU3ready,theywillbetransferredfromDeveloperSitetoDCC&ERPrespectively

vi.Similarly,SKU2orSKU3packagesshallbereleasedthruDCCtoOEMsuppliertodownloadrespectivelyifneeded

vii.InthecaseofchangesrequiredforthecontentsinthereleasedSKUpackages,anEngineeringChangeNotice（ECN）Processmaybeproceeded,andthepackagesintheDCCmaybeupdatedaccordinglywithapproval

ProductRealizationProcess（PRP）

PRPisthemoduletogenerateanewproductandsoprovideSKU1anditspackage,aswellasreferenceSKU2&SKU3fordefaultBBPOSversionandtheirpackages,asaninputtothesystemforcustomizedfullSKUgeneration.ForthedetailsofthePRP,pleaserefertoitsprocessdocumentseparately.

DocumentControlCentre（DCC）

DCCisthemoduletomaintainandcontrolthepackagesofSKU1,SKU2andSKU3.Itseparatesintwopartsfortwopurposes:

i）internaldocumentmanagementsystemforPRP;ii）externaldocumentstorageandinterfaceforreleaseofthepackagestovarioussystemsespeciallytoOEMsuppliers.MicrosoftSharepoint（withlinkhere）isfacilitatedtosupportthefunctionsandoperationsofthismodule,withspecificpermissionmanagementfordedicatedpersonsofOEMsupplierstodownloadappropriateSKUpackages.ForthedetailsofDCC,pleaserefertoitsSOP.

DeveloperSiteSystem（DSS）

DSSisthemoduleto:

-Connectwithcustomersforreviewontangiblevisualdesignandfirmwaredesigncustomizations

-Allowcustomerssign-offcustomizeddesignandprovideevidence

Asmentionedabove,DSSisservedforcustomizationsonSKU2orSKU3only.

Theinputofthesystemareeither:

-Customerrequestontangiblevisualdesigninformation,or

-CustomerrequestonEMVanddevicesettingsinformation

Togetherwiththeinputs,thereisanentrycriteriathatanSKU1isreadywithdefaultSKU2&SKU3asabaseline.

ForSKU2,thereare3activitiestobeperformedintheDSS:

a.OpenanCustomerCodebyCS

b.StorecustomizedvisualdesignfilesbyCS

c.Allowcustomersign-offthecustomizeddesignfiles

ForSKU3,similarly,thereare4activitiestobeperformedintheDSS:

a.Provideonlineconfigurationformtocustomerforfillinginrequirements

b.ShareconfigurationforminPDFformattoFirmwareEngineering,TechnicalSupport,ProductMarketingetc.asareference

c.Storecustomizedfirmwarebinaryanditsconfigfile,andallowcustomertodownloadforevaluation

d.Allowcustomersign-offthecustomizedfirmwarepackagewithconfigurationfile

Finally,specificonSKU2andSKU3,fewoutputshallbereleased.

ForSKU2:

a.Customizedtangiblevisualdesignpackagefordownload

b.Sign-offevidenceforcustomizedvisualdesign

ForSKU3:

a.Customizedfirmwarepackagewithconfigurationfilefordownload

b.Sign-offevidenceforcustomizedfirmwarepackage

FirmwareEngineeringisresponsibletomaintainandcontroltheDSS

ProductMarketingisresponsibletoexecutetheactivitiestoprovideinputtoDSS,andtopassoutputfromDSStoothersystems.ItistoensureSKU2,SKU3andtheirpackagesareinsyncbetweenDSS,DCCandERPoncecreated

Thereisaremarkthat,DSSistheinterfacebetweencustomersandBBPOSinternalsystemonly,soitshallnotbedisclosedtoanyOEMsuppliersforanypurposes

EnterpriseResourcePlanning（ERP）

ERPisthemoduletoapplySKU1,SKU2andSKU3andtheirinformation,tosupportproductpricing,costingandorderingfordailyoperation.TheproductcostingandpricingoftheSKUshallberesponsiblebySourcingandCustomerServicesrespectively.ERPisinterfacedwithDCCtoensuretheinformationofSKUareinsyncinbetween,whichisresponsiblebyProductMarketing.MicrosoftNAVisfacilitatedtosupportthefunctionsandoperationsofthismodule.ForthedetailsofERP,pleaserefertoitsprocessdocument.

EngineeringChangeNoticeProcess（ECN）

ECNisthemodulethatcanmanagethechangesrelatedtoproductafterSKUrelease.ItisinterfacedwithDCC,toupdatethecontentsintheSKUpackagesinthereoncechangesapproved.ForthedetailsofECN,pleaserefertoitsprocessdocument.

4.SKUCREATION

Byconsideringdifferentnatures,SKU1,SKU2andSKU3shallbecreatedindifferentways.

SKU1

SKU1istodescribeaproductrangeintheorganization,whichiscreatedunderPRP.ProjectManagementmanagestherelatedproductdevelopmentactivitiesandalsothedeliverablesofSKU1packageincluding:

oProductSpecification

-ElectronicdesignoutputsbyElectricalEngineering:

oEEBOM

oTestingProcedureforPCBA,Semi-FinishGoodorFinishedProduct

ProjectManagementisresponsibletoensurethereadinessandqualityoftheabovedeliverablesunderinternalDCCbeforeinformingProductMarketingforfinalreview.

ProductMarketingisresponsibletoverifythereadinessofdeliverablesinquality;andonceaccepted,createanewSKU1inERPandDSSrespectively,anditspackageunderexternalDCCforbusinessoperations.Togetherwiththeacceptance,achecklistforSKU1packageshallbesignedoffbyProductMarketing.

Finally,ProductMarketingisalsoresponsibletoinformCustomerServices,TechnicalSupport,SourcingandProjectManagementetc.thattheSKU1anditspackageisreadyforbusinessoperations

Thereisaremarkthat,specificontheEEBOMandMEBOM,theyareinaformofdesignBOMoncereadyafterPRP.TheyshallbeinputintoERPsoastoc
