GreatExpectationsisanovelbyCharlesDickens.ItwasfirstpublishedinserialforminthepublicationAllTheYearRoundfrom1December1860toAugust1861.Ithasbeenadaptedforstageandscreenover250times.Asitisknownbymanypeople,soIchoosethisbookformyreadingreport.
GreatExpectationsiswritteninthestyleofbildungsroman,which6followsthestoryofamanorawomanintheirquestformaturity,usuallystartingfromchildhoodandendinginthemaincharacter’seventualadulthood.GreatExpectationsisthestoryoftheorphanPip,writingabouthislifeandattemptingtobecomeagentlemanalongtheway.Thenovelcanalsobeconsideredsemi-autobiographicalofDickens,likemuchofhiswork,drawingonhisexperiencesoflifeandpeople.
