　　 第一部分:

    第二部分:

Clearly,whatyouneedfirstofallisanideawhichyoucandevelopintoastrongplot.Butwheredoideaslikethiscomefrom?

Theansweris"anywhereandeverywhere."Theymaycomefromsomethingthathashappenedtoyouortosomeoneelse,fromanewspaper,aninterestingpicture,orevenasong.It'sagoodideatokeepanotebooknearbysothatyoucanwritedownthedetailsofanyoddincidentswhichcatchyourimagination.Makeanoteofideasfortitlestoo,andanyspecialphrasesordescriptionsthatyouthinkof.Asmalltaperecordercanproveusefulforthispurpose.Somewritersevenkeeponebytheirbedincasetheywakeupwiththe"ideaofthecentury".

Anothermethodofdevelopingthestoryistomakeuseofthecharactersthemselves.Whynottryputtingthreepeopleyouknowwellintoasituationsuchasawedding,wherefeelingsmaybeverystrong,andseewhathappens.Butdon'tmakethefinalcharacterstoomuchlikeyourAuntJaneorUncleJimoryoumayfindyourselfinrealtrouble.
