FuelSystemMenu--Providesemissiontestsforcarburetedandfuel-injectedvehicles.

IgnitionTestMenu--Providesdiagnostictoolsforcheckingtheprimary,secondaryandtimingsystemsonavehicle.

Overview

Thisroutineisdesignedtotestandreportontheconditionofany12-voltautomotivebattery.Thetestreportsthefollowingdata:

●AvailableCCA--（ColdCrankingAmps）fromthebattery.

●OpenCircuitVoltage--measuredatthebatterypositiveandnegativeterminals.

●LoadVoltage--measuredatthebatterypositiveandnegativeterminalswhilealoadisplacedonthebattery.

●Recoveryvoltage--measuredatthepositiveandnegativeterminalsduringaperiodoftimeaftertheloadisremovedfromthebattery.

TestProcedure

1.FollowthescreenpromptandtypeinthebatteryCCArating.Ifyouarenotsureofthebattery'srating,enterthenumbersperthechartbelow.

The"ChargingLive"screen（seeFigure3-2）appearswhenthistestisselected.Usethisscreentomakesurethatallleadsandvehiclecomponentsareworkingcorrectly.Ifthe"AMP"digitalmetershowsahighornegativereading,zerotheampprobe.

[F2]torunthediagnosticroutine;

[F3]toupdatethediodepatternwhichappearsonthescreen;

[F4]toplacealoadonthebattery;

[F5]totogglethescalesonthedatadisplaybetweenahighandlowscale.

NOTE:

[F2]and[F4]arenotavailablekeysuntilbatteryrecoversfromloadappliedtoit.Whentimerreacheszerothekeyswillappear.

NOTE:

Ifnecessarytozerotheampprobe,makesuretheprobeisclampedaroundALLnegativebatteryleadswhenyoureplaceit!
