IcalledtheWestPointMuseum,consideringthatifthefamilycouldn’tbefound,thejacketshouldgothere.ThemuseumconnectedmewithKimMcDermott,DirectorofCommunicationsfortheAcademy’sAssociationofGraduates.KimsoonensuredthatthejackethadbelongedtoChesterBraddockdeGavre,whowasa1933graduateandawarhero,butpassedawayin1993.

IsentKimaphotoofthejacketandshepostedittotheWestPointAssociationofGraduatesFacebookPage,askingifanyonecouldhelpusfindthefamily.Inlessthantwohours,someonehadfoundandcalledthehero’swife,Teresa.SoonIstartedtoreceivepersonalmessagesfrommembersofthedeGavrefamily,theirfriendsandotherswhoweretouchedbythestoryandtheyfoundmeonFacebook.
