ElonMuskisoneofthefamousvoicesthathaveraisedredflagsaboutAI.InJuly2017,MusktoldattendeesatameetingoftheNationalGovernorsAssociation,“IthinkpeopleshouldbereallyconcernedaboutAI.Ikeepsoundingthealarmbell.Butuntilpeopleseerobotsgoingdownthestreetandkillingpeople,theydon’tknowhowtoreact,becausethecurrentinfluencedoesn’tseemsooverwhelming.”PhysicistStephenHawkingalsoexpressedconcernsaboutAI,oncetellingtheBBCthatthedevelopmentoffullartificialintelligencecouldspelltheendofthehumanrace.

However,fearsthatAIwilldevelopawarenessanddefeathumanityaregroundedinmisconceptionsaboutwhatAIis,notedWeinberger,anassociateprofessor.AIoperatesunderveryspecificlimitationsdefinedbythealgorithms(算法)thatstateitsbehavior.SometypesofproblemsmatchAI’sskillsetswell,makingcertaintasksrelativelyeasyforAItocomplete.“Butmostthingsdonotmatchthem,andthey’renotapplicable,”Weinbergersaid.
